Location great, but that’s where it ended. Dog on next door property barked and barked and barked and barked all night, both nights. Shower was old, small and had poor flow (hot then cold), a number of cockroaches in the room. Not much to like about the place, it’s in a pretty poor state of repair

needs work

Always enjoyed staying at major mitchell but this stay noticed a real deterioration in the condition of room. Colleagues did as well. Understand the difficulty of much investment but can’t let it deteriorate any more. Enjoy the location requiring brief walk to dining. Generally good value and good size rooms but time to fix up.

A very basic motel in all respects. I had to ask for any info I wanted and found out that no meals or breakfast was available. The room was poorly decorated and the bed linen was in need of replacement. Reception hours were advertised by a note on the door as being 2.00pm to 9.00pm ie no person available for checkout

The car parking space was too small our vehicle. The double bed was lop sided with the head of the bed being uneven. So we had to sleep with our heads at the foot end. When we turned on the toilet/bathroom light it made a loud wining noise. Otherwise the unit was very comfortable.

The room was good for what I paid. Bed was absolutely amazing. Incredibly soft & comfortable. Had a problem with the bathroom upon arrival but the staff were beyond friendly and helpful in getting the issue resolved. Incredibly happy with the service.

Bad Wi-Fi connection - otherwise OK

The manager/owner was great as he let us leave one day early without charge as something has come up. Very disappointed with the Wi-Fi Internet connection though as there was none. We were in room 6 and my friend Who asked about it was told Wi-Fi did not go through bricks. When I queried why the Wi-Fi was not working (as the Motel proported to have free Wi-Fi) I was told there was an expander on the roof but it didn’t get through to our room. Telstra had supposedly been arranged to fix the problem. We had to go to the office to use the Wi-Fi to get Internet connection which was inconvenient as we had to walk outside our room to the office and because it was very cold.

Flying visit on a long drive

Only a one-night stay but got a friendly greeting at reception and given the essential info. Gratefully had a dip in the pool that was clean (except for the big bugs that seem to inhabit the area - you couldn't stop them but not an inconvenience in the pool anyway). Room was good, clean and well appointed with some cooking facilities. Bed was soft but fine. Big beetles in the room - one visited me in bed at night. Not sure what management could do about that though as they seemed to be everywhere in town. An affordable and spacious unit.

Room was adequate four our stay. I felt the welcome was very underwhelming, could have been much nicer. It was a hot day sure, but were were happy to arrive but that was not reciprocated.

We stayed here for one night during a long road trip. We were glad we could park our car right at the door of our room. Check in was simple and efficient. The room was large and very clean. The kitchenette had a fridge, kettle, tea and coffee, a toaster, a microwave as well as crockery and cutlery. The shower was good with plenty of hot water, clean towels, and basic toiletries. The aircon kept the room nice and cool. The bed was very comfortable. There were guests in rooms on both sides but we didn't hear them at all through the walls. The hotel is near the centre of the small town. If we'd stayed longer we would have used the pool as it looked inviting. We enjoyed our one night stay and would recommend it to others.
