Great Location

It was our first ever trip to Bournemouth and we thoroughly enjoyed the sea side and apart from the lift breaking down and people being stuck in it, the hotel is pleasant albeit Victorian as it was the first hotel built there. The hotel allows pets, i am not a fan of that but each to their own

Great stay

We had a great visit. Happy with the facilities, staff and room. It is a building with character, so if you are looking for modern and perfectly polished then this may not be the place for you. We tended to eat out but we did have bar food in the lounge area on one of the days and this was lovely. We didn’t try the set meal Buffett. The night we did eat in the lounge we wanted desert but when we asked there was only cake available. Not a major problem but you could be missing a trick on sales! Room was clean and a good size, we stayed in a double with balcony and sea view. Most staff we encountered were friendly. Really nice outdoor areas and obviously great location.

Overall pretty decent.

The hotel is a bit tired and room very small, but decent bar, lots of room in the main areas and garden, great location and it was a really decent price (which to be fair was why the room was so small). Parking at the car park next door was extortionate but really handy. Overall would stay there again with no hesitation..

The whole hotel needs a face lift..parts look grubby and bedrooms need a good lock of paint. The grounds were better kept than the hotel. Location is good for walki ng to beach. Having to pay over 26 pounds for every 24 hours is very expensive. One should not have to pay that when.n staying in a hotel. The hotel should cover that vost.

DO NOT STAY HERE

Was told our room was upgraded, didn't get to see our original room but if this was an upgrade our intended room must have been really bad! Turned the tap on and the water came out yellow, took it to reception and was told that its due to the water supply being connected to the heating system! They didn't have any spare rooms apparently, although the hotel was very quiet. Bought water in to use in the bathroom as I didn't fancy getting dysentery from brushing my teeth. We we're very lucky to have a balcony attached to our room, but couldn't use it as the balcony was in such poor disrepair it was unsafe. Balcony doors also didn't lock, or even close properly with about a cm gap in the wood work! Visited the spa the next morning and found an old local man drying his smelly clothes in the sauna. Quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I can't recommend enough that you DO NOT book here, now matter what the reason!

Extremely Disappointed – Not 4-Star Standard ★☆☆☆☆

I stayed in Room 83 at The Bath Hotel in Bournemouth, and it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had—especially for a supposed 4-star property. The room is awkwardly located in the entrance to the Health Club and feels like a repurposed storage area. It genuinely resembled a cupboard under the stairs. The walls were paper-thin, so I could hear every conversation and door closing in the busy hallway outside. It was impossible to relax, let alone sleep. The condition of the room was far below standard. Dust was thick around the low-level air vents (photos attached), and the bed was propped up with mismatched wooden blocks—completely unacceptable. The bedding even had visible burn holes. The bathroom appeared to be a cheap, self-contained unit with a persistent strange smell. Filtration devices had been fitted to the taps and shower, which gave the impression the hotel’s water supply may not be safe to drink. This room simply should not be offered to guests. The overall experience was far from the quality expected from a 4-star hotel. I would strongly advise avoiding Room 83 at a minimum—and personally, I wouldn’t return to the property at all.

Thumbs up.

We had a nice stay. The staff were friendly. It's in a great location for the beach and restaurants. Many people comment on the rooms being out of date, but I think it gives a nostalgic feeling of British seaside hotels. The shower pressure was fine. There is a large carpark next to the hotel that cost us £26 for 24 hours (Ringo app). The hotel is nice.
