1. I was working for 4 days in Cabinteely. The nearest hotel was the Royal. Collegues who didn't know my mobile telephone number contacted the hotel. The hotel reception said it was connecting them to my room. The collègues said the line would go dead. This happened several times to one caller in particular. As it happened there wasn't a telephone in my room which is quite incredible. I reported this to the reception. Hotel staff however never informed collegues who called. On one occasion, on Sunday, a collegue came to the hotel to pick me up by car. The reception claimed to have called my room 3 times and to have sent someone to knock on my door. This was untrue. I was in my room the whole time. The fact that there was no telephone and the hotel staff pretending there was, led to much confusion. 2. I started work at 8 AM each day. On Saturday and Sunday the hotel didn't serve breakfast till 8AM so I missed breakfast on these 2 days and I would like you to reimbursement me. Ray Rushe

Belle chambre, accueil moins bonne

Nous avons séjourné à Bray dans le but de participer au Groove Festival. Le personnel de l'hôtel ne savait pas où il se déroulait et ne connaissait pas l'événement ce qui a été pour nous décevant. De plus, la dame à l'accueil semblait plus intéressé à finir son quart de travail que nous servir. Cela nous a donné une mauvaise première impression sur l'hôtel.

Positive and negative

Location is great. I’ve never been asked for photo ID at check-in before…I found it odd …Room and downstairs were lovely, comfortable. There were insects coming out from under the bath. The carpet in hallway needs an upgrade, there were drips coming from the ceiling. I paid the €5 overnight car park fee and went off on a hike with my kids. Half way round Bray Head I thought of renewing the car park ticket , but nothing I could do. When we got back to hotel at 5pm, car was clamped. €125 had to be paid for release fee😠 I feel this is unreasonable as we were staying the 2 nights.

The staff at the Royal Hotel are so helpful, understanding, kind. The breakfast staff couldn’t do enough for you very friendly.

Don’t bother

Very expensive for the quality of a very old & run-down building. Then to pay extra for parking is poor. Very tired hotel & staff generally grumpy
