The staff are so nice at the Doubletree Cadbury whereas the actual hotel rooms are a bit small and tired. It’s good value for money though and we enjoyed using the pool.

Some of the staff were very poor and argumentative. We could hear loud music in our room at 6am and when we told the night receptionist, his response was what music? To which we pointed out that music (clearly audible from the restaurant/bar area that wasn’t even due to open for another hour!). Our room was direct above it. We were then told it wasn’t excessive but it woke us so obviously was! When I said he needed to learn customer service he replied with I need to learn not to be rude!!! Definitely not what the customer expects from a “bell hop” Also the a/c heater would either blast out either hot or cold and not a constant temperature. Other staff were very helpful and seemed embarrassed at what had happened and went out of their way to accommodate us

Room was for a disabled person, therefore the bathroom was a wet room. There was no light over the mirror to enable makeup and hair before the evening function, in the bathroom or bedroom. TV wouldn’t work so had to ring down to reception to get someone to sort it out. Couldn’t get into the breakfast room so had to eat our breakfast out in the bar which wasn’t ideal. Whole property is very user unfriendly with having to go up and down stairs or use the lift every time you wanted to go anywhere.

We didn't sleep well as there were a lot of noises (fan switching on and off constantly until turned off, aeroplanes from 5am) and the bed was incredibly hard, which is a shame because the pillows were good and the room decor/layout was pleasing. The breakfast buffet was definitely one of the better I've had in my life so that rescued the score from being subpar.
