We found our perfect vacation place, and we hope you feel the same! Casa Curiel is an airy, light-filled and peaceful 2 bedroom/2 bathroom respite within a quieter, condo complex -- complete with a gorgeous pool. This is also one of the units in this condo complex that has striking views from the condo itself.
All of this is so well-situated in Zona Dorada -- a few blocks from the best beach on the Bay of Banderas, less than a block from restaurants, bars, convenience store, Chedraui -- a big box store, bank, pharmacy and taxi stand.
The condo itself has a fully equipped kitchen with an open concept layout allowing the gorgeous Mexican sunlight to bounce everywhere. In fact, most of the 'walls' to the outside are made of glass patio doors. There is a master bedroom with an en suite bathroom and a king size bed (really two twins fitted together with a special connector and king size bedding) The second bedroom has two double beds. There is a second bathroom just outside this bedroom. Both bedrooms have sliding glass patio doors that open to let the ocean breeze in. For your convenience, there is a washer and dryer in the condo itself.
There is a deck off of the dining room with an outside table and chairs -- a great place to enjoy your morning coffee (yes, there is a coffeemaker) across from a Palapa roof and with a view of the pool in the background.
For lounging in the condo, we have a large flat screen SMART TV and an upgraded, private internet connection (not shared wifi).
And finally, a short 2 flights of stairs above Condo Curiel is a large patio with palapas and incredible views of the mountains and sea. Its a wonderful place to have dinner or watch the sunset.
The beach is a pleasant 9-12 minute walk away. What is it that makes it the best in the Bay of Banderas? The grade is mild (sometimes even flat if you catch the tide right) so you can walk along it comfortably for miles in either direction. The sand is mostly the fine and golden kind that feels great under the feet -- not too many pebbles. Gorgeous mountain views in both directions. And there are plenty of waves to play in but they aren't too scary big. Don't miss a chance to see the beautiful sunset behind the ocean. We provide you with backpack beach chairs, beach towels, beach toys, and a rolling cart to take everything comfortably to and from the beach, although if things get broken by guests, they are often hard to replace, so we cannot guarantee the presence of all these things.
My husband and I used to rent places to stay from VRBO. We tried to include all the things we wished people had included, so if we didn't mention something, just shoot us an email and ask! Maybe we already have it, or if we think its a good idea, maybe we will get it. We also have a wonderful local manager, Silvia, that can help make your stay comfortable while you are there. She would be happy to make arrangements for maid service or other services you may like. Maid service is provided every 2 week for people staying at least a month.
If you want a place with a homey, comfortable feel, this is a great fit. Not everything is brand new, like it might be in a resort, but it is clean and comfortable, and we renew things as needed like you do in your home. If you see an aspect that has reached the end of its useful life, please let us know. Sometimes our manager can just pick up a new one for you (or reimburse you). If she can't get that item in Mexico, we need to send it or bring it from the states.
Finally, we don't charge a security deposit, because we trust you to tell us if you break something, and just try to replace it locally. This helps keep the quality up for everybody. My manager cannot test and inventory each kitchen item between guests so we trust you to be honest and thoughtful about the experience of the next guest. If you can't replace something you broke and its expensive, we may ask you to reimburse us, but there are few items that qualify for this contingency.
PLEASE NOTE: I know its rare for Bucerias but we are some of the few folks from the US that have discovered this place (don't worry, we aren't telling anyone!). So please note that rates are in U.S. Dollars. You can also pay in pesos.
