Holiday Chalet in Widemouth Bay, Bude - path to sandy beach.
Overlooking Widemouth Bay on a pleasant hilltop location, Chalet 37 is a 2-bedroom self-catering bungalow. It is tucked away at the back of the site and overlooking open farmland. Lovely location, friendly and safe site for children with plenty of grassy areas to run and play. Direct path (only 10 minutes stroll away) to safe sandy beaches, surfing, white sand and rocks to climb on and explore. A cafe and good local family-friendly pub/restaurant just down the road. On site free parking.
NB (Electricity is provided via a coin meter in the cupboard. ÂŁ1 and ÂŁ2 coins are required. Once heated the tank will provide VERY hot water. Water in shower in self generated via a pump).
Widemouth Bay Holiday Village is undergoing a change of Management at present so there may not be a shop, reception, pool or bar facilities available for 2023 season.
Mouldy bathroom windows, ceiling, shower head main bedroom had very strong smell of urine white mould in microwave Light in kitchen not working cups/plates etc dirty had to wash before use dust etc in drawers using the toaster blew the trip or set the fire alarm off lots of spiders and webs in all rooms bedroom curtains didnât close in one room and hung down at the top in the other bedroom no complimentary tea/ coffee as in description I could go on. Good points bedding and towels provided were clean/new plenty of hot water. Over all very disappointed with the cleanliness especially as we were charged ÂŁ50 for cleaning and with the pandemic we expected it to have been deep cleaned before our arrival
Carolyn& Peter where perfect hosts whenever you contacted them they where very happy to help ,the chalet was excellent very clean well equipped & comfortable including the beds . Location was perfect for a walk to the beach ,restaurants where close by all in all Avery nice peaceful location with all you need for a wonderful break
The chalet is situated in the best spot from all of them in this holiday park. Very well equipped and comfortable.
The Owner was very kind and perfect in communication before our stay.
It was a nice environment and not very busy. The walk to the beach is longer than expected and it should be mentioned that you can't really take a buggy on the walk to the beach.
The apartment was just superficially clean. The carpets and the bathroom floor were quite dirty.
They provided a trolley because you can't park the car next to the house which was very useful and our children loved it!
Thank you very much.
We enjoyed a fabulous week away and the holiday home was super. It fitted our needs of being cosy, clean and handy to local facilities. Owner Carolyn was easy to contact and had provided a few lovely home touches, despite the restrictions due to covid19. Would definitely recommend to others.
A lovely chalet in a lovely spot. The only negative was that there is no food service on site so if you don't want to cook you have to eat out or collect a takeaway. There are places to eat within easy walking distance and lots of takeaways in Bude. Although we couldn't find one that delivers we did fetch a lovely Indian meal.
Chalet is very well equipped, even a barbecue, and clean and the site is tidy and well maintained. Lovely views across the bay from the site. Good for star gazing on a clear night. We even had a shooting star.
We had glorious weather, a lovely walk across the cliff tops to Bude. Boys enjoyed the surfing and inexpensive surf hire nest to th Beach cafe.
We had amazing time, holiday chalet had everything you need, wievs was absolutely amazing.

A good comfortable base for a Cornish holiday
A good clean site with with plenty of amenities for the kids.Took me back to when we used to bring our children down to Devon & Cornwall in the eighties now it's our 7 year old grandson. Although the tide's were against us we still had a good holiday. Thanks to all management and the owners for a good break.

Lovely family getaway in Widemouth Bay
On our arrival we were welcomed with a basket of fresh bread; clotted cream shortbread and some other supplies to get us going. The chalet has a warm homely feel and has a supply of everything one would need on a self-catering holiday! The staff at the Village were very friendly and helpful. They advised us of where to go for a day outing, which we did, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Bude itself is an amazing seaside town with lots to offer visitors. Our highlight was visiting Boscastle and then Tintagel where we walked around King Arthur's castle ruins. The local Inn overlooking Widemouth Bay was also a great place to eat while looking across the bay. A lovely relaxing time had by all. Thank you Carolyn for your amazing hospitality. And I must add the whole administration process of booking with Owners Direct I found to be efficient and stress free! Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Bude.
The chalet was a simple place, nice and clean, perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids for a cheap getaway. Everything you need for a house from home, all the pots, cutlery, TV, few games, BBQ etc. The pool is very cold so only used the first time, laundry is there if you need it, as is a wee shop and great little swing park. The bar was cheap, food was great and Bev the entertainer was the best we have ever seen at a holiday park... He was very funny for both kids and adults, when you look around everyone was laughing, great singer and played few good games to keep the kids happy. Short walk to the beach which was large and good for rock pooling, chilling out, couple of nice cafes and near a cracking pub The Bay View Inn which had good food, play park for kids, great views and good service.
