Agave Rosa Casa at Spa Buena Vista
A contemporary Baja Vacation rental steps from the beach in the sleepy East Cape town of Buena Vista BCS, the house is located inside the Spa Buena Vista neighborhood, one bedroom and the option to add a second bedroom with an additional nightly fee; by previous request, we can arrange access to the hotel amenities they usually offer Day passes to their restaurants, bar, jacuzzi, and cabins at the beach. (This is based on the hotel availability and has a daily fee) The house is 55 minutes away from the international airport of San Jose. Ă la carte services, such as a simple Baja breakfast, daily complete or tidy cleaning services, and basic grocery delivery service, are available at an extra fee. The house has a small pool and jacuzzi and access to use Stand Up Paddleboards.
We have been coming to East Cape for many years and like to try different places. This casita was spacious for 2 people, very clean, and had a WONDERFUL private dip pool and outdoor shower. The beach was a little walk, but not more than 5-8 minutes. Parking was secure inside a enclosed wall with gate. Los Barrilles is a short drive away for restaurants and groceries/renting an ATV which we used every day on beach drives. The owner was extremely responsive on a couple of queries. Had a very relaxing week with NO issues.
Had a wonderful, relaxing weeklong stay. Easy check-in and they had the hot tub turned on! Had everything we needed. Lovely pool and the bed was so comfortable and large. Loved the lighting at night around the pool on the trees. There is a store right across the street and the resort as well, very convenient. Would definitely recommend.
Relaxing! Hot tub was nice on cool nights, view was nice.
Relaxing, hot tub was great. Home away from crowds, but close to beaches. if you have a car, restaurants and groceries close enough too. You can rent side x side in Los Barriles about a 5-8 minute drive. Waterfalls and hotsprings within 40 minute drive. 4 wheel drive vehicles or side x side best for waterfall and hotspings outings.
This little casa was my fav vaca rental. The private and outdoor space (upstairs balcony and downstairs courtyard) really expands the useable area creating a much larger feel complete with a small pool and hot tub. Centrally located in the SBV and directly across main dirt road from a small convenience store. The interior/exterior has been intricately designed with lots of detail. The hosts are very responsive and will have any question quickly answered or resolved. Look forward to returning.
My husband and I visited the area for the first time, especially to enjoy the fishing and beautiful beaches. We visited during the slow season (tourist-wise), and even though it was very hot outside, it was such a lovely area to visit and we enjoyed such nice service and hospitality from everyone we met around Buenavista and Los Barriles.
This little house was perfect for me and my husband. Off of the beaten path, in a quiet neighborhood, nice view from the roof top, and across the street from a nice hotel with a yummy restaurant and a little grocery store for essentials. We did not cook at the property (this time!), but we easily could have. The bed mattress was very comfortable, and the air conditioning was great. Also the design of the showers was nice- there is both an indoor and outdoor shower and they are "connected" yet still divided by a door. So my husband could rinse off outside and then step directly into the indoor shower area. The owner, Javier, was also very nice and responsive, and he gave us a lot of tips about the area. It was also very helpful to have a nice ice chest at the house, which we used and took with us when going to the beach, etc.
Final tip: In case you visit this area, we recommend that you rent an ATV to use around town. It makes it so convenient and fun to go to the beaches and restaurants, etc. We rented a side-by-side 4-person ATV, so we could have more shade and also could put the back seats down for more storage during our adventures.
My girlfriend and I spent five days in Javierâs home and found it to be spectacular in all ways. It is small, but completely efficient and outfitted for what you need. The pool and yard as well as the rooftop are perfect for hanging out.
The bed is extremely comfortable, and watching sunrises and sunsets from the rooftop was spectacular.
Close to a beautiful beach, close to Los Barilles for restaurants and all of your needs.
We highly recommend this house and this host!
This property is absolutely gorgeous! It is super private with a private pool, hot tub, outdoor shower, and patio. The upstairs patio is a great place to watch the sunrise! I did my morning yoga there and it was so peaceful. The kitchen was stocked well, lots of games/cards, and also BT speakers for use which was great! The nearby town of Los Barriles has everything you need to relax be it grocery, restaurants, rentals, medical, etc. Will 100% be back!
Pros - It looks like the pictures, a pleasant Baja house with pool and hot tub. It is a very short drive to a mostly deserted beach.
Cons - The lockbox out front only had a key for the front gate. We were there for two days before we discovered the house keys on a nail above one of the doors. Luckily the door to the indoor/outdoor shower was unlocked. I don't know why the keys weren't all kept together.
We had to search in the bookshelf for the welcome guide, there were no instructions for the safe.
It has only a peekaboo ocean view from the upper deck.
The listing states that the property has kayaks and other watersports equipment, however when I contacted the owner he stated that you have to purchase a day pass at the resort across the street to use them, $35/day.
Lastly, the majority of kitchen supplies we used (glasses, bowls, plates) had to be washed before using, they obviously had not been washed before our arrival. I don't mean the usual Baja dust, these were sticky and dirty.
Nitpickyness aside, it's a nice house, tastefully decorated in a quiet neighborhood, the owner and manager just need to pay more attention to detail if it is to live up to it's 4.8 star average.
This property is awesome- itâs so Baja chic! And close to the beautiful beaches of Buena Vista.
This is a really comfortable place to relax and rejuvenate and has everything you need from the most comfortable bed to a refreshing dipping pool. You will not be disappointed with a stay at this spot!!
We had a great time in Buena Vista. The house was perfect for two people. The house was as described in the listing, and the bed was really comfortable. We drank coffee on the upper patio every morning to a beautiful view the mountains and Sea of Cortez. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
My Lady and I can't thank Javier enough for "The" Most memorable Vacation we have ever had!"
We will never forget Los Barriles in large part because of our experience at this VRBO. If your looking for privacy and easy access to the Beach and no fuss. Look to stay here....
The Resort across the St. gives you options and the little Store across the St. helps you leave any anxiety over every day needs. Especially ICE, LOL...
All the Decorations and Accommodations were well thought out. Along with the Security.
We again HAd the time of our lives, You rock Javier !!!! Thank You from the bottom of our hearts for sharing your getaway paradise VRBO!
The property is clean and beautiful. Comfy furniture inside and out, and private and secure. It really isnât a one bedroom, but a studio. Plenty of room for hubby and me.
The pool and outdoor shower were definite pluses!
We rented an ATV in Los Barilles so we could easily access all the beaches and explore around us. Since my husband is a surf caster, we could hop on down to the beach and go find the fish!
The owner was very responsive to my questions and needs - would def come back!
Loved all art touches at this property! The owner was very responsive, checkin and checkout were easy. Great soaking pool and hot tub. Easy to get to Los Barilles if you crave more action. Would definitely stay here again.
The house is conveniently located, just a 5-minute walk to the beach (which was nearly empty); it is directly across the street (dirt road) from the Buena Vista Hotel and a mini-market (youâll need to bring or buy water). Another convenient market is just a block up the street. (Neither market stocks enough food to make your own meals.) The hotel has a good restaurant.
Access to the property was simple via the hostâs directions. We had stayed once before several years back, so we knew what to expect. The enclosed courtyard and parking had been redone and the landscaping was new and nice. There is patio just outside the door with a small table and a couple of chairsâwhich we used each eveningâand a hammock, and a small dipping pool just outside the patio. The property also has a hot tub. The host provides a beach umbrella, two sand chairs and two beach towels. There is a rooftop terrace with an L-shaped bench/sofa and table and chairs. The umbrella is extremely heavy and difficult for even a very strong person to put up. But the view from the terrace is fantastic!
The inside of the house was much the same as our previous stay; unfortunately it hadnât been properly cleaned prior to our arrival. A message to the host brought a quick reply and he promised the maid would be there early the next day. She came at 11:00. We pointed out severalâbut definitely not allâof the cleaning deficiencies (empty soap dispenser, dirty toilet, faucets, stovetop, crumbs on the floor, dirty rugs and mats, and dusty throughoutâwe understand a fine layer of dust happens when youâre living in a desert community, but there was much accumulation of dust); sadly when we returned from our outing we found that only a few things had been remedied.
The house boasts a collection of eclectic decor. The huge ceiling fan in the main area is very unique, made from fishing poles and sail cloth; sadly three of the fan blades are broken. The bathroom boasts a shower that opens to an outside shower; if youâve been to the beach, you could rinse off before entering the house. The property would benefit from fresh new towels and bed sheets and a good overall cleaning, including the can lights and ceiling fans. The courtyard is secure and private. The location is only a 5-minute drive to Los Barriles. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
