Check in was easy with clear instructions came in the day before with picture of the building and directions.
Room was on a smaller side for 4 people but reasonably clean and plenty of towel provided for the duration of the stay. Room was warm enough even in the middle of winter
Had one issue with balcony door unable to be closed but owner was prompt to respond and even tried to call us directly
Location was convenient in the middle of haeundae main street with plenty of restaurants, shops and entertainment
Note the building is called "elbon the stay"
Overall satisfied and would recommend
Check in was chaotic. This is not a hotel. It is just a bunch of rooms owned by someone.
The room was full of junk and had not been cleaned properly.
Avoid
Biggest disappointment for us was the pool was completely out of order and closed. It seemed like it had been closed for weeks. Would have been nice to be offered a way out if they knew about this. We chose this particular property because of the pool and cafe on the on top floor and both were closed. Our checkin was chaotic, details were not communicated properly. The building says ELBON on it, we did not see any A1 signs anywhere except the pillows and towels embroidered with AWON. We got a message to go to a laundry room on the 6th floor and leave our bags there, we happened upon a helpful Korean cleaning lady who spoke a bit of English managed to explain we were trying to check in. She was able to call the Awon people for us and obtain a room number and door-lock code for us. We were very nervous to leave stuff in the room but thankfully we had no problems on that front. The room was tiny and felt like someone was living there, strange objects, a laptop in the closet, very little cutlery and plates in the tiny kitchen, carpet tiles lifted, day 4 we got a delivery of a huge box at the door so we kept that with us until we left. 3rd bed a foldout loveseat, unbelievably uncomfortable, there was a folding mat on the balcony that we were able to use instead. Recycling downstairs but a sign saying garbage is supposed to stay in the room... not sure how you are supposed to cook for a week and keep your garbage in a tiny room... Overall we made it work but we were disappointed.
