This spacious seaside holiday home is the perfect retreat destination for every season. Enjoy the Western Australian sunshine on the soft white sands of Dunsborough Beach, a leisurely 5-minute stroll from your doorstep. The winter months are just as wonderful cozying up for a night in, with a selection from our extensive DVD library, or watch the rainfall with a glass of wine from a local Margaret River vineyard, from the comfort of your own private deck lounge.

Retriever Retreat is an open plan house with all the modern comforts of home. A sure way to enjoy your down south experience. Ceiling fans adorn each room, and the A/C in the lounge area assures a comfortable stay in any climate.


Boasting 3 bedrooms this secure seaside escape can sleep up to six adults comfortably, making it ideal for families or large groups. The pet friendly fencing means any fury friends are welcome too. A family feast is a breeze with the kitchens fully equipped modern cooking facilities, backyard BBQ, and generous 8-seater dining table in one of the multiple entertaining areas.

The Master Bedroom fitted with queen-sized bed; private powder room and French door access to the deck makes it ideal for a romantic couple’s retreat also.
There’s so much to eat, see and do in Dunsborough - only a 1 kilometre easy stroll away is the towns centre.
A 10-minute drive will take you to the Surfing Beaches of Yallingup, Smiths Beach or Bunker Bay. The Margaret River Wine Region is all around you, with wineries, some with art galleries and restaurants in all directions.
Dunsborough has everything you’ll need to enjoy your escape down south.
Charging of Electric Vehicles is not available at this holiday home. Dunsborough has charging stations in town near the post office.

Parking is easy, with ample space even for boat owners & the nearest boat ramp is only 500 meters away.

Property was perfect for our pooches. It is one of the most well setup homes we have stayed at with everything you need for short stays. Beds were comfortable and everything really clean.The welcome bottle of wine was much appreciated , so thoughtful.

Just perfect

We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. All were able to relax and chill out; even the 4-legged member!We even had 2 youngsters of the blue-tongue lizards who are doing well with their fatty tail's visit daily. Day 1 we coerced them to safety, but next day they were back again where we discovered them If we don't get back to this place, then it will be another that Lisa manages.

Cozy beach stay

Conveniently located half a block from Dunsborough Beach and near the boat ramp, excellent dog walks and comfort TV area, with sound system and lazy boys couch (perfect for Xmas eve and morning), beds and pillows for a good night sleep. I loved the theme of the beach house with little messages everywhere to help disconnect from daily stress and the city buzz. Absolutely pet friendly as advertised. The only two things to get to superb holiday mode are upgrading the BBQ grill and a dishwasher.

Fantastic

Wonderful house, beautifully presented. We had our 2 Labradors with us and the house caters for dogs with enclosed yard, water/food bowls etc. Love that it’s called “Retreiver Retreat”. It’s a short walk (5 mins) to the dog beach, 15-20 to town or 5 mins in the car. Has absolutely everything you need. Simply fabulous

Dog Friendly holiday house

The house was fabulous, very clean, fully stocked with everything that we needed, very quiet location and close to the beach and easy walk to town. The dogs also had a fabulous time in a secure backyard and they had their own beds and bowls. I would definitely recommend and will come back again

Perfect getaway to destress and enjoy the town

The house is beautiful and the kitchen has everything you may need during you stay. There is a Family centre right across the street but if you are inside you are not going to hear a sound. Less than 5 minutes walk from the beach and 20-ish minutes walk from town centre: lots of things to see and do in max 20-30 minutes drive and you will receive a complete list of all the best spots after booking. We also got a bottle of great wine on the house!

Relaxing and comfortable stay

This was our anniversary celebration and just wanted a restful and relaxing beachcation, we loved the house very comfortable large and spacious. We don’t have a dog but what a great place if you did have pets, walk to the beach and into Dunsborough. Very easy checkin process, house is so welcoming and easy to find. It is quiet which is exactly what we were looking for. We only stayed the weekend and we’re expected to take out the trash which was full, I thought that request was an unfair ask but we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for sharing your space with us, would definitely stay again.

A quaint cottage style property; with quirky, inspirational quotes dotted throughout the house. Super quiet, everything we needed at the property, apart from a dishwasher! Short walk to the beach and quick bike ride into town. Lovely property.

Good location, lovely, well-appointed holiday home.

We really enjoyed our stay at Retriever Retreat. The home was in a great location being on a quiet street in Old Dunsborough; 5-7 minutes walk to the beach and about a 15-20 minute walk into town. The home is designated "pet friendly" and was really well set up for our dog with tiled floors throughout and a secure back yard, fully enclosed with a colorbond fence. There were dog beds and bowls at the home, though we had already brought our own with us. The house was exceptionally clean (you would not know it was "pet friendly"), light and airy with all the doors having security screening. We found it to be very well appointed compared to many other homes we have rented. The kitchen pantry was full of various condiments, olive oil and coffee with a sign reading "Take what you need, replace what you feel" which was a nice touch- I would presume the availability of condiments would be entirely dependent on who had been there before you. There was also a "welcome" bottle of wine from a local vineyard. The kitchen had plenty of cookware, bakeware, crockery and cutlery so I found I was able to cook everything I ordinarily would at home. There was also a 4-burner bbq with 2 full gas bottles outside. The home had wifi, and a decent entertainment system that allowed you to watch streaming TV and blu-ray or use the Sonos system. The home is a really nice to relax both inside and out. We would definitely return in the future and recommend it to anyone else, with or without pets.
