Arts + Crafts Style meets Tropical charm in this bright/airy spacious 3-bedroom home with sparkling saltwater pool off main deck. Casa Zorro is one of the original Caribbean homes in Playa Chiquita, 6km south of the lively surf town, Puerto Viejo.

The main floor boasts an expansive deck connected to the saltwater pool, with BBQ and plenty of comfortable seating. From there you enter the great room--spacious kitchen/dining/living area with high ceilings, comfy couches, custom lights, and a large kitchen made for cooking! With its farmhouse sink, gas stove/oven, full-sized fridge, plenty of counterspace, and a rack full of chef's knives, you can cook together with fresh ingredients purchased at the 3xweekly market, or the Gourmet Supermarket just 3 minutes’ walk away.

Down a wide hallway with 2 large bedrooms and a bathroom, you can go up the stone staircase to a huge open deck. There you'll find additional seating, a wet bar, an expansive canopy view, and the master suite with large beautifully fitted bathroom, washer/dryer, and plenty of shelving for luggage and clothes. From the upper deck with its almost 360-degree vistas you can watch toucans and macaws swoop and enjoy sunset cocktails as monkey troops pass by.

The sun-soaked garden has a wide variety of plants and flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. The large open grassy space is perfect for a game of bocci or croquet (ask Erinn for the equipment!) and secure parking for 2 to 3 cars. In the parking area you will also find a shower to rinse off after a day at the beach.

The owners have their own entrance and live with their sweet little dog Foxy in an attached apartment with soundproofing on the shared wall and spaces designed to ensure privacy for guests at Casa Zorro. On the other side of Casa Zorro is a small guest house where long-term renters Seth and Kait live quietly, tending their herb garden and teaching yoga and breathwork classes online and at local studios.

Take the tranquil 5-minute walk to the trail to Playa Chiquita beach (walk in access only) --voted by many the prettiest beach in the area. Sandy shores with pockets of coral jutting out into the sea create a beautiful shoreline for basking and relaxing. You can walk in either direction for as long as you desire! And stop in for 'una fria' as you go at the occasional restaurant or bar sprinkled along the coast. Or rent a bike and explore the villages as you go.

You will find yourself steeped in the Pura Vida the minute you walk into the bright open spaces of Casa Zorro.
