We enjoyed our stay in the country side. The property is simple and relaxing. We spend three nights here. There is one restaurant on site, and the owner was very kind. She would asked us what time we want breakfast. and if you have preference, let her know. they would do their best to accommodate. their english was limited but with the help of google translate, we manage to have friendly conversation. Once during our chat, I showed her a picture of a dish, and mentioned that was my favorite vietnamese snack. and she told me that she would make it for me for breakfast. What a wonderful surprise.
There are bikes for us to use. and since I do not know how to ride moped, that is my primary transportation. We explore the island. The locals are extremely friendly.
My only complaint is that the wardrobe didn't work. the drawer fall apart the minute I pulled it open.
There are also a couple of things that are beyond the control of the owners. 1) noise level - due to the proximity to the market, sometimes we can hear loud music as early as 6 am. 2) electricity was cut on our last day due to the village construction.
i read the other review and came prepared with ear plug, we managed just fine.
I will come back and visit Hue and Tam.
What started as a nightmare - despite my booking/confirmation the hotel was closed when i arrived - became a good experience, after the owner has called me and came back to the lodge to open it, just for me.
El lugar es precioso, tanto la habitaciĂłn como el entorno. Se encuentra en una isla en medio del Mekong y para llegar hay que coger el ferry. Por la noche se escuchaba a las ranas croar, todo muy especial
Stayed for 2 nights at Beautiful cottages 2 with huge bathrooms with an open shower and a koi pond. Rooms were clean, beautiful and spacious . But getting here was a bit Long way for me cos I took the local bus with the owner and her assistant Huyen ( the only person that can speak and understand English ) very helpful and fun â€ïž. As for the transportation , I think you can book a private car from HCM city , but not sure how much it cost . think around 80 usd .
The hotel we were staying in at HCMC rang Mekong Ecolodge on our behalf, and we emailed them 3 times to find directions and transport options, but nothing! We had to pay for the room anyway and ended up staying in HCMC that night at extra cost.
Dont go there!!
