Sink blocked, wifi poor, poor cleanliness despite the Hotel being half empty. Breakfast buffet ok. Checked out after one night - couldn't bear to stay longer.
This hotel is excellent value for money. We only stayed one night to catch an early ferry the next day, but the place had lots of touches in the rooms to make our stay really comfortable and I would be happy to stay here for longer.
Having stayed several times in this Hotel we knew that it was comfortable and had an excellent restaurant. However one of our main reasons for selecting the establishment and paying more was the views from the Hotel. Unfortunately the entire seafront is being redeveloped and the outlook is one of Mud Piles, Contractors fencing and Machinery. The promenade is a builders yard and not a pleasant area for a stroll.
I've stayed here several times and will continue to do so in the future. The staff are very friendly and professional. The rooms are beginning to look a bit tired and in need of repainting - hopefully not the horrible dark blue again! Unfortunately this stay was spoiled by unruly children running and screaming in the corridor until 11 pm. Good location for the ferry and they accept dogs. Car park in need of resurfacing.

Decor needs improvement. Big comfy bed, very little space around it.
very good budget price hotel,we had a very warm welcome and made to feel that our custom was valued, would definitely stay again,we only wish we had eaten in the restaurant as the food looked very good
Been going here for 13 years but sorry never again. It’s gone down the pan. Arrogant management. No hot water in evenings to shower. Poor menu. Damp in rooms. Shame as used to be really good
Before I start the bar/waiting did an excellent job and this review is not about them. Firstly we booked to stay at Hotel de la Plage. When we arrived we were told we were next door at Hotel de la Golf. One word a dump! After complaining we were moved to le Plage. After a long journey you want a shower right? Not here as no hot water at night! Asked why to be told only available in morning! We made a cup of tea in our room and when we went down stairs to ask for a couple of extra t bags we were refused and told there is enough t bags in room and if we want more tea then we would have to buy from resturant! Asked for additional blanket for bed and you would have thought we were asking for gold! After much moaning by the “ Manager” he relented and gave us one. Now for dinner. We ordered our meals. My wife ordered scallops for her main which when they came were cold. Sent it back and told new ones would be cooked. Well second plate came and not only under cooked but even colder than last plate. We said don’t bother and cancel my wife’s meal. Well bill came and we were charged for the cold food! We asked the waitress who was very embarrassed and said the manager had said we were to pay. We spoke to the manager who had a very arrogant manner who said the food was not cold and demanded we pay. He tried to say we didn’t know how scallops were cooked but we do as we have eaten in many fine restaurants! After a heated conversation he would only give us a poultry 10% discount!
ideal for 1 or 2 nights stop over. very close to the tunnel and close to town centre. the property could do with a makeover in the bedrooms as they have painted the tiles over and it has not worked and was bubbled up. the evening meal was very good
Nice enough hotel but starting to look and feel a bit dated. A little bit more effort and maintenance and this could be a great place to stay. Small things like duvets rather than blankets on the beds, china cups rather than plastic would make a difference.
