Here are the key highlights of Delacour, tailored for a general audience interested in its unique features:
Rural Serenity and Scenic Beauty
Delacourâs creek valley setting provides a peaceful backdrop of rolling landscapes, ideal for those seeking a quiet retreat. The hamletâs sprawling acreages, hobby farms, and elegant country estates offer ample space for privacy and outdoor activities like horseback riding, hiking, and nature exploration. A standout feature, the Delacour Golf Club offers a scenic and accessible course for golf enthusiasts. Known for its well-maintained fairways and relaxed atmosphere, itâs a draw for locals and visitors seeking a day on the greens amidst the hamletâs natural beauty.
Historical Significance
Named after a Danish foreman of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway construction crew, Delacourâs history is tied to the railwayâs development. The first passenger train passed through on February 28, 1914, and the Canadian National Railway still operates the line. A small store and post office, established in 1914 and 1915 respectively, reflect the hamletâs modest but enduring community roots.

This quaint store serves as a community hub, offering essential goods and friendly service. It embodies the hamletâs welcoming vibe, catering to residents and passersby seeking convenience in a rural setting.
Proximity to Calgary

Recreational Opportunities
Delacourâs open spaces are ideal for outdoor pursuits. The surrounding Rocky View County offers attractions like Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park and Big Hill Springs Provincial Park, both within driving distance, where visitors can hike, bike, or enjoy waterfalls and rolling hills. The countyâs equestrian culture also thrives, with nearby trails and facilities for horse enthusiasts.

Very great home, clean and plenty of beds. I ran into issues with the security alarm, we waited for permission to disconnect the alarm but it was going off all night. Other than that It was beautiful.
We met as a family to celebrate Christmas and had a wonderful time. David was very helpful and we had the house decorated for the season. The kitchen is very well stocked and a wonderful layout. We enjoyed the espresso machine and had lattes every day. The main floor had a much cozier feel than the pictures showed and was great for cooking, game playing or just hanging out. Everyone had their own space and lots of room in the basement for the kids to be active
This is a wonderful property! Located in an area of estate acreages just north of Calgary, we loved the huge yard, the spacious and tastefully decorated home and the short drive to Calgary, Airdrie, Cross Iron Mills, the airport and even Cremona where the beautiful wedding we attended took place. We shared the house with another family and loved how we all had our own space but could get together for socializing. We even hosted our kids and grandkids to a hotdog and games evening and they were all impressed with the rental. The property is well stocked with everything from dishes to small appliances, a propane bbq and deck furniture and laundry facilities. We would definitely rent this home again. We did have an Internet glitch which might be critical for those needing to work from home - the host tried to get it looked after and Telus looking after it but we never did get that resolved. Aside from that, this was an amazing stay in a convenient located for us.
Perfect location close to our wedding venues, host very responsive and easy to reach , clean , comfortable, excellent laundry and kitchen facilities (. 2 of each) , safe and nice neighborhood, spacious , nice bed linens and comfortable beds
