Welcome! We are delighted that you found your way to our Bonny Cottage. This endearing house is poised high in an area affectionately referred to as Happy Hill, less than a mile to the villages and Moonstone Beach (and a delightful walk if you don’t mind the hill). As one of the original early Cambria cabins, it was built in 1923. Because of the age of the house it is not suitable for children under the age of eight. If you look you will find a sweet antique photograph of the original cabin and the owners on the wall just next to the front door. People speak of Cambria itself as a beloved, almost mythical place, a real-life Brigadoon. And there are as many ways to love Cambria as there are people who love it. There is the ocean, of course, and the picturesque east and west villages with their shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants less. Hearst Castle is ten minutes up the road at the foot of Big Sur and the elephant seals (and occasionally the Hearst Ranch zebras) are along the way. There is always wine tasting, sunset-watching, stargazing… and sometimes just sitting by the fire listening to the waves. This notebook offers some information and a few suggestions, but is in no way complete. Our stay was great. Great location in a peaceful neighborhood. Cabin outfitted with all the goods. Only thing I can complain about was the bed wasn't comfortable in my opinion.

Wonderful!

This place is so cute! Very well done and decorated-large yard, great seating. So fun to come back to the house and have the ambience of all the candles. Love the history of this place. It’s immaculate and has very nice linens. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anybody.

Perfect Getaway

We enjoyed the quietness of the neighborhood, the proximity to town and Moonstone beach, and the amenities at the cottage. The cottage is small, but had everything we needed for a relaxing few days. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the deck and enjoying our coffee in the morning, and watching the sunset in the evening. We would definitely stay here again.

Long weekend getaway

This is a sweet, romantic step back in time. So many cozy and thoughtful touches throughout. Especially loved the candles on timers and the multiple spots to sit and enjoy the views. We will definitely be back.

Charming Historical Cottage

This historical cottage is bright and comfortable. The antiques and old photos of people having fun add to the charm of the place. There are two decks to enjoy with a distant view of the ocean and a front yard that was frequented by groups of quail. You are walking distance to town and the beach but you do need to walk up a steep hill going back. The cottage is well stocked and has everything you may need. This is a real gem!

Cute little cottage amongst houses of varying architectural style, so kind of cool. It’s a walkable neighborhood if you like some inclines. Great for the pooch too! The house is cute and fairly small, the king bed was fine so my wife and I were satisfied. The kitchen was small but nice, ok for everything we needed to do. The only thing was the gas stove’s pilot light was not on so you’d have to light with a match. We did not cook anyway so no big deal. There are nice views from virtually every room. We would return for sure.

The Bonny Cottage was the perfect choice.
