Sanga Na Langa No Worries. Captiva Island vacation rental home

Welcome to our Tropical Captiva Island Vacation home-away-from-home. We decided to name our home Sanga Na Langa, which means No Worries in the Fijian language. Nothing is more fitting after you experience a week or longer at the home and on Captiva Island. Our vacation rental home has been completely updated with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a game room, private heated pool, and more. There is a spacious main level with a living room, dining area, open kitchen, two bedrooms, and one bathroom. Just off the dining area and living room is a screened lanai with seating and additional dining. The master bedroom is upstairs with a comfortable king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom. Downstairs is another guest bedroom, a sitting area, and a game room. We've just added a full daybed on the ground level. On the ground level, there is another screened seating area looking out to the private heated pool. Should you want to catch some sun, we have plenty of chaise lounges and poolside seating. The entire area is fenced in and private. Access the world-famous Captiva Island beach at the end of the lane. As our home is located in the Village Area of Captiva, you can just park your car and walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. We look forward to welcoming you to our new vacation home soon!

Pros: Close to Beach, grocery store, restaurants, plenty of room, good accommodations (towels, outdoor shower, etc)Cons: Front Door lock failed (called 4 times to try and get fixed), Main floor Queen bed felt like collapsing and could not access TV content, Bunk bed ladder falling apart (reported and said would fix but never showed up), Pool controls poorly labeled and filled with bugs/etc, Dining chair cushions dirty/disgusting (See picture), Multiple lights broke/not working, Trash bins full outside (No room for our trash), lower level HVAC not adequate, coffee pots filthy, dish washer dirty/stunk

Wir haben den Urlaub sehr genossen. Der Pool ist noch viel schöner als auf den Fotos. Die Lage ist sehr gut, strandnah und dicht am Islandstore und eisladen.MÀngel im Haus wurden unkompliziert behoben.

Dream Vacation

You will love this vacation rental very clean and spacious. We had five adults and there was plenty room for everyone. The pool was very relaxing after being at the beach. We enjoyed the short walk to beach, restaurants and stores. Would highly recommended this beautiful home. We will definitely be back.

Happy to be back on Captiva.

Sanga na Langa is a fantastic location. We were very happy to be so close to the beach, and to various amenities such restaurants and stores. It did our hearts good to see the island recovering from Hurricane Ian, and we were happy to contribute to the recovery with our presence. We appreciate that the house itself is still recovering too. We wanted it noted the the railings on each of the balconies were unstable, and that we found them this way - we did not contribute to them becoming unstable. Likewise, one of the front steps needs to be replaced. We have concerns that if it is not replaced soon, it could be a hazard for a future guest (i.e., it could cause someone to slip and fall). Again, we did not contribute or cuase these issues - I assure you that we left the house as we found it. Also, after a night of storms, we found some standing water in the game room but were unable to determine where it came in from. Nothing was damaged and the water was easily mopped up. Of course, we have some aesthetic suggestions: we would have liked ambient lighting in the bunk room; we found the basement bedroom too stuffy to sleep in; and we would have liked a sitting chair in the upper bedroom. But these are small details - especially compared to the safety concerns of the steps and railing . Again, on the whole, we had a great week and were simply happy to be there, happy to be on Captiva, happy to be on vacation, happy to be at the ocean and happy to be together. Thank you

The house was perfect and we so enjoyed our time, besides being accosted upon our departure by a very angry neighbor. I’m sorry- there was one night where the noise was loud bc of teenagers, and I handled it. My apologies if that caused you any trouble. Thank you!

Excellent Vacation!

My family of 8 really enjoyed our stay in Captiva. Even with the impact of the hurricane still evident, we found enough places open and enough things to do. The property is very clean, and the location is excellent, even closer to the beach than it seems. The amenities (kitchen items, towels, etc) of the house were as described and there was plenty of everything. There was an issue with a screen door and the hot tub, but both were corrected promptly. My only complaint is that the lower level was described as having a full living space with couches, chairs, refrigerator, tables, etc. This is one main reason we booked this property as we have teenagers and wanted to make sure they had a place to hangout. Unfortunately, with the hurricane, the lower level had to be remodeled and the furniture was not replaced at the time of our visit. This wasn’t communicated and we didn’t know until we got there. I wish we would have been told in enough time to book a property that better suited our family or would have been offered a small refund since we did not feel we were given the same amount of living space we paid for. I hated to have this blemish on an otherwise excellent property. If the lower level could either be furnished as advertised or described as it now is, I would not hesitate to stay there again!

We had a fantastic week at Sanga Na Langa! The house is lovely and well-supplied. It was quite clean, with the exception of the areas that we all tend to overlook in our own homes, mainly the dishwasher filter, & a musty smell in the upstairs washing machine (both of which we took care of ourselves). There is a second fridge and washer/dryer in the basement and the big grill on the pool deck works well. As others have indicated, the house needs plastic plates and cups that are good for little kids and taking out to the pool. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room to spread out. With the exception of plasticware, the kitchen was very well stocked! The Sonos system was great for being able to play music throughout the main living space and on the back porch. We loved being able to walk into the village and to the beach within just a couple of minutes. We were able to use the game room, but it needs some attention. The slot machines are difficult to open and one of them has a broken-off key which made doing so nearly impossible, the big game has a broken screen which rendered it unusable, the air hockey table wobbles, and the shuffleboard table needs to be treated so that the pucks slide as intended. The management company was very responsive when we called to ask about the game room and came to do what they could to make it work better. The house has several beach umbrellas in good shape; the chairs were more beaten up, but would still have worked if we didn't have our own. We didn't need to use the beach cart, but we saw it in the garage and it looks like it's in good shape. There are no pool floats, so if that's important to you, bring your own or plan to buy them when you arrive. Our kids loved the cornhole set! One thing that is not clear in the listing: The basement is accessed by going down the stairs, outside into the garage, and then back into the house. If you've got little kids that you're planning to have sleep down there, you'll need a monitor if you want to be able to hear them from upstairs. We had a wonderful time staying at Sanga Na Langa and would not hesitate to book this house again. Many thanks to the owners and management company for facilitating a great week.

Duncan Family Annual Vacation

Wonderful vacation and time with family in the beautiful home. We all loved the swimming pool! The downstairs area was like a private apartment with its own refrigerator, washer and dryer and sitting area. My family has said repeatedly this was their favorite home they’ve stayed in for vacation! Room to spread out and room to sit down as a family! Hope to return next summer!

Great Vacation Home!

Beautiful spacious home on a great street! Close to the beach and restaurants. The basement set up was perfect for our kid's quarters. They loved it. That is when we could get them to come out of the pool. Very nice pool, hot tub, and outside area. Could use some plastic dishware for the kiddo's. Great place, we would stay here again!

We will be back!

Home is perfect for a group or large family. We loved the pool- it was beautifully heated and well maintained. Fantastic open living space and kitchen. Location can’t be beat- steps to beach and some great restaurants. Owners were quickly responsive to some issues. When we visit I next I do hope to see some more family friendly dish wear (currently it’s all glass and no kids cups/bowls), as well as actual pump hand soap would be nice (bar soap by sink at this price point?? Come on!). Other than that it was absolutely perfect!

Wonderful spot between beach and village

We enjoyed our stay here very much, with only short walks to the beach, watersports, restaurants and shops. The backyard pool and hot tub is terrific and was heavily used every day. The main living area, kitchen, decks and three main bedrooms were all very comfortable. However, the additional bedroom(s) in the basement are only suitable for young children, with older uncomfortable mattresses. So with 6 of us there needing at least 4 bedrooms, someone ended up sleeping on the sofa every night. So as long as you only need 3 adult bedrooms, there couldn't be a more perfect sunshine escape than this!
