We had a problem with the AC but were promptly handled. We were given fans on night two which helped tremendously. The next day while we were at Legoland it was fixed. The only problem was we were compensated for the night we had no AC. We also did not ask because our overall stay was amazing. Next time we stay there we will ask for a top room floor because the family had a bunch of kids running all three nights until midnight. I finally called the last night there at 11:15 because we need sleep in order to drive home safely. It was promptly handled within 20 minutes. Even with the issues we had we will return. This hotel is absolutely amazing.

We absolutely love staying at the Renaissance by Marriott in Carlsbad! The breakfast alone keeps us coming back. As someone who doesn’t eat pork, I truly appreciate the variety of options available, having delicious chicken and turkey choices makes such a difference and doesn’t go unnoticed. And the pumpkin spice waffles? Always amazing. Honestly, something we look forward to every time! The staff truly sets this place apart. Every morning we’re greeted with friendly smiles and warm “good mornings,” which immediately starts the day on a positive note. You can tell how much pride they take in their work, the breakfast area is consistently spotless. Even during busy times, the team is constantly moving, wiping things down, restocking, and making sure everything looks great. This hotel feels welcoming, well cared for, and thoughtfully run. Highly recommend to anyone staying in the Carlsbad area, we can’t wait to return!

Clean room, friendly staff, large selection of breakfast items. Air conditioning in room is not working, promptly fixed! Would like to see signage designating that pets are not allowed in breakfast eating/serving area. While going to breakfast one morning, heard yapping of older female and her pet dog. They were both barking at another lady with her service dog. Understand ADA requirements for service animals. Not complaining about designated service animals. Complaint is about people bringing obvious pets into food serving area. Residence Inn, please post proper signage in accordance with CA Health Dept. and ADA!

Clean room! Friendly staff. Had issue with A/C not cooling. Was quickly remedied! Room we stayed in was next to exit door. Every time someone would enter/exit, door would slam shut; loud noise transfering into room, at head board of bed. Would stay here again, but would request room away from exit doors!
