Summary:
Just a 25 minute drive from Mount Gambier along the coast line you will find Carpenter Rocks very own motel style accommodation. Located in a small fishing town Carpenter rocks is best know for it beaches, dirt bike and 4WD trails, swimming and great fishing spots.

The Space:
Our motel is brand new and offers 3 different modern private room types. Apartment 1 offers 2 bedrooms with space to fit 6 guests, a fully equip kitchen with gas cooking, 65inch T.V and comfy lounge space, free unlimited wifi, split system heating and cooling and both bedrooms have smart T.Vs The apartment offers a spacious private bathroom with bath and seperate toilet.

There is parking space on site.
The main laundry is shared between the 3 private rooms with washer dryer and sink area.

The motel is 40 metres off the beach and within walking distance to the general store, tennis courts and the playground with BBQ area.

Unfortunately there is very low reception for Voda Phone. All other carriers like Optus and Telstra have great reception!

Comfortable, spacious and newish.

The property is only a few years old and in a central location between the pub and the store. The beaches are nearby and the host is a great communicator.

Family stay

The property was very good, modern and clean, and the location is perfect. One thing I could recommend is to have at least a few shelves, in each room to unpack your suitcase. We stayed for over a week and it did get a bit messy with nowhere to put our clothes. Besides that, we had a great time. Thanks, Riaan

It was very clean and spacious.

We enjoyed the clean and open living area, with its fully functional kitchen with everything you need to cook a scrumptious family meal every meal time. The laundry was also very useful, we will be back for sure.

Beautiful place, the apartment was excellent only minor suggestion would be tissues or paper towels but otherwise everything you need was there. Will definitely stay again!

Great accomodation, great location.

Excellently appointed apartment. Has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Beds are comfy, kitchen has everything you need, including salt, pepper and cling wrap which are often forgotten when packing but definitely needed and the kids loved the television in the bedroom!! Great location with access to a snorkelling beach teeming with sea life less than a minute's walk away and a sandy swimming beach only a couple of minutes walk away. Set amongst typical shacks but most were empty so very quiet area. Easy drive to Mt Gambier and Tantanoola caves with plenty of things to see and do. Communication with host was easy and responses were very quick. Definitely recommend for a family.

It had everything we needed

Everything was great. We had a week there.The kitchen even had enough bowls to use in the microwave. This doesn't happen often as most places think you're just going to use a bbq for all your cooking needs. There is plenty of space in the unit we had. I loved the shower. Ours at home is so tiny.... the beach is a short walk 50m to the rocks 250m to the flat sandy part. you can't see it but thats ok. It was easy enough to carry our fishing gear. There is a separate laundry but we didnt have to use it. It could probanly do with a hose on the tap out the back so you can hose off your sand covered and fishing stuff and esky etc on the grass area. Tv takes a hdmi cable so you can plug in your laptop. Every power point has a usb socket too ! They are the slow charging ones but at least you dont need to take up 8 different power sockets with the amount of devices most people carry these days. Watch the concrete pad where you park. If you have the unit at the far end and its full there is a 2ft drop. Zoe was wonderful and replies very quickly to your texts and emails. Her mum lives close by and even takes the bins out for you. We stayed when no one else was there so it was quiet. Cant really comment on if the rooms would be insulated against rowdy neighbours. The take away general store has a limited supply of groceries. Their pies and burgers were awesome. We did our shopping at millicent on our way there anyway. We did try the pub food by take away on one of the nights it was open and it was wonderful too. Make sure you have a 4wd to get to the best beach spots you will need to drop air out of your tyres........ and your own air compressor as there isn't one in the town. We blew up our compressor and had to drive very slowly to millicent on 20psi. We would happily return and stay there again. Hopefully have more luck fishing next time hahahhaa.
