We had a great time in Cartagena, largely because of this beautiful property and our hosts Alan and Ramundo, who were attentive to our every need. Our accommodations were excellent and as advertised. We did not realize how much we would come to appreciate the local insights and assistance we'd receive along the way, and I am confident we were able to enjoy more of the experience as a result. A beautiful very well appointed house with center courtyard and small pool for cooling off in the heat and a rooftop area to watch the fire works of NYE. Proprietor was very helpful in walking us through the old city and making recommendations for activities. If you don't like a person living in the space, being present at all times to open the door etc-this is not for you. But if you are comfortable with that you get the bonus of having someone to make you breakfast in the morning and make sure all is secure at night. If a light bulb goes out, he is there to fix it. Very comfortable areas for family to gather and visit or get away on the roof. Our grandchildren ages 4 and 8 found this place to be very comfortable and staff very attentive.

We were two families traveling with teenagers and one toddler. The location is ideal to get the most out of Cartagena and its surroundings. We could walk to every restaurant and the most vibrant part of town, yet the rooms were quiet enough at night. Alan, the house manager, can arrange anything from dinner to boat trips. I just wish I knew this in advance, but we are also good travelers and have planned our trip pretty much on our own. That said, Alan had great advice during our stay and great tips to navigate a new country for us (like which ATM to use for the best exchange rate).One small downside of the house is that I would not recommend if you have very small kids (under 3). There are a lot of stairs. We managed with our 3 (almost 4) year old, but just be mindful of that.The pool was a perfect feature to cool down after exploring the town or even after a full day at the beach.Again, perfect stay, and would highly recommend.

It began before check in, it was easy checking it once we arrived. The host of the property was very helpful in providing details on how to get around in the Old City as well as outside of the city. The host also provided a delicious breakfast daily this was an amazing place to stay!

3 generations, perfect vacation spot!

We are a family of 5 and met grandparents and great aunts at this lovely property, 9 of us for nine days. It was the perfect place for our group, which ranged from 7-95 years old. Our hosts were fantastic every day and so helpful. Our flight arrived early morning and Alan helped us get to the property, store our bags, and find a great place to have breakfast and wander the city until the house was ready. Breakfasts by Alan was a perfect daily ritual and we enjoyed the slow mornings together. Raymundo and Alan were attentive to every need. Lilian was there to clean each morning and the house remained spotless. Everyone was so kind and made us feel welcome and secure. Alan gave us recommendations for restaurants, beaches, and more. Raymundo was very attentive to our older travelers. We had a few special requests and they made them happen seamlessly! The pool, though small, was the perfect place for my 3 kids to cool off and play. This was an incredibly special family trip for us and the home, and especially our hosts, made it perfect! We made many lifelong memories in beautiful Cartagena. Also a perfect location. After visiting other areas inside the walled city, we were glad we stayed here!

Exceeded our expectations - Gold Standard Hospitality

I had the pleasure of staying at this place with 10 of my friends during our time in Cartagena. It is a beautiful spot thats kept in prestine condition and is well located to some of the popular spots in the city without it being to busy. The in-house staff, Alan and Raymond were so kind and accommodating and truly went above and beyond, helping us with booking a private boat tour, giving us great food recommendations, making us breakfast and drinks, and making us feel secure during our stay. I've never experienced this level of hospitally in any of my travels, this place is truly a gold standard. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Catagena and will definitely be staying here again next time I visit!

Wonderful stay in Cartagena

Our group of 5 couples stayed at the house from Feb 8-15, 2025. The house has 5 bedrooms each with attached bathrooms. The location of the house was very good and very convenient on a quiet street but walkable to everything, including a large supermarket and a shopping mall with many restaurants.We had a wonderful experience. The staff of three people headed by Alan Moore, were extremely responsive to our needs. Alan in particular was great, spoke very good English and walked with us on touring the city, to buy groceries, and shopping etc. We were served hot breakfast of our choice every morning. We certainly recommend this house to anyone planning to visit Cartagena and looking for a house to stay. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic Property

If you want to see what living in the the "Old Town" of Cartagena is like this is the place for you. The house itself was stunning, authentically modernized and so very comfortable. The staff was first rate, going out of their way to help us find our way around the city and, suggesting special activities. They took great care of us (including waiting for us at the front door every evening when we came home), recommending restaurants, etc. I'd recommend this home to everyone.

Lovely villa — just not ideal for us.

The property and staff were wonderful, but we were a family planning to stay over Christmas. We ended up leaving two days early because (1) there was no place with air conditioning that we could gather as a group— only the bedrooms had AC and the public areas were hot, humid and a bit buggy — and (2) we were never alone in the house. The three staff were fantastic, but we wanted some family time and that wasn’t really possible. We weren’t permitted to have a key and so had to knock to be let in regardless of the hour. So, again, a lovely property with a very pleasant team, but not the right fit for our family Christmas.

Authentic Colombian Stay

Loved everything about our stay at this authentic casa colombiana. This home was perfect for a family wedding weekend. We were a group of 8. Everyone had their bedroom and private bath. The home has a butler and a cook too!! We picked up some groceries at the Éxito around the corner and the cook made breakfast and a special secret recipe coffee. We also had maid service everyday. We felt safe and comfortable. Thank you to the staff of this lovely home!

Christmas to New Year's Two Families of Four

The property looked just like the photos and the amenities described were accurate. The pool is described as indoors however it is in an open courtyard so it is in the open air. There is one bedroom on the ground floor & the rest of the bedrooms are accessed by outside spiral staircases, Alan, Raymundo, and Liliana were all so accommodating, helpful, & kind. Alan in particular answered so many of my questions before we arrived. Here are some things I wish I had known beforehand: The only air-conditioned rooms are the bedrooms. Everything else is open air around a courtyard. There are fans, however, when we were there it was very hot and so there was no place for all 8 of us to be together comfortably. We wanted to get out of the heat midday, but we couldn't do it without everyone going to their rooms. When it cooled off there were mosquitos. This is not a problem with the property AT ALL! The property was great, however, I wish I had known the setup because we traveled together to hang out together & couldn't. We all agreed the beds were hard. If that is comfortable is a matter of choice. The water in the showers took a long time to heat up & most of us just took cold showers, which in that heat didn't bother us. Having said all of that, our breakfast was prepared for us, our laundry was done, the rooms were cleaned daily, fresh towels, etc. & anything we needed or wanted was made available to us. We watched the sunset together on the roof & we did have a great stay.

Perfect Cartagena Vacation!

What a beautifully appointed, well situated spot for a Cartagena vacation! We can honestly say that our group of 8 (family and friends) were completely satisfied: the property and staff truly exceeded our expectations. Beyond the close proximity to all areas of the walled city, Alan and Reymundo were great hosts, attentive and courteous in every respect. Cannot recommend enough.

This was my first visit to Cartagena. If not for Al and the staff, I don’t think I would have fully experienced the city as well. The house was remarkable. I will definitely return soon.

Great visit to Cartegena

We had such a wonderful time at this beautiful house and were so well taken care of by the Alan, Raymundo and Iliana. They made everything so easy for us. Alan took us shopping to lay in the basics when we first arrived and then made us breakfast and coffee every morning; not easy with 6 adults over 50 with our own particular tastes and preferences (two vegans in the group). Alan aslo supported us in providing guidance on how to get around the town and even walked us to the harbor early one morning to take a boat to the islands. He helped arrange for the group to get in house massages, and made us dinner reservations at wonderful restaurants. Raymundo was there every night to greet us and make sure we got settled back in at the end of the long day. We felt safe and secure and in very good hands the whole time. Iliana kept our rooms and the space very clean every day, doing so in such a stealthy and unobtrusive way that it was all done before you even knew it! The location was fantastic; easily walkable to all points of interest and on a quieter street with just enough activity to be interesting, but not noisy. We had a terrific time and would would definitely come back to stay again.

Loved our stay here!

My son was getting married in Cartagena and we wanted a place for the family. This was the perfect place. There were 5 bedrooms each with their own bath. The courtyard has a small pool that kept my 6 yr old granddaughter happy, and plenty of room for the adults to visit. But the highlight of this vrbo was Alan, who was always ready for our every need. He helped us negotiate with the taxi drivers since we didn’t speak Spanish, order our food, pick up our food, and even walked us to an emerald jewelry store!! He made the place! As did Reymond, and the housekeeper!! Always smiling ready to help out! And the location was excellent and within walking distance to everything !

Amazing Stay in Cartagena Colombia

We booked this property for a group trip (7 adults, ages 25-30) celebrating a birthday. Not only is the property in a prime location of the old city close to the supermarket, street food vendors, shops and the mall. It’s a beautiful home with tons of space, a nice pool, rooftop with great view that felt super secure and comfortable. The highlight of our stay was definitely the amazing property manager Alan and Raymundo his assistant. They were friendly, cool and helped us book activities (boat ride and photographer), dinner reservations, gave directions and walked us there when it was close. They helped the cleaning staff with property upkeep and upon request got us breakfast, lunch and dinner from local places. Their presence was a huge difference in making the trip a success and made us feel like we were truly at home. We will definitely look to stay here again next time we’re in town. Thanks again! 10/10 would recommend.

We had great time at Cartagena. Alan (Property care taker) is very good and present all times of your need. He is always available to provide support during stay. We explored many areas and restaurants and island. House is located into City and very convenient location and walking distance to most of the places.

A trip to remember

/We had planned this trip to Cartagena for two years despite the pandemic. I selected this property because it met my criteria of being within the old historic city, modern conveniences, and a feel of Colombia. What closed the deal were the rave reviews about the “concierge” Alan Moore aka James Bond! Simply put he helped take a great trip to magical.I am not going to repeat other’s comments. In our case Alan became part of our family and he shared many restaurant meals with us. Alan has travelled the world and is able to converse on myriad subjects. A true Renaissance man. It helps if you can speak and understand a bit of Spanish.

Amazing!

Everything about this property rental was perfect!! 15 minutes from the airport, within the walls of the old city, 10 minute walk to Getsanami, restaurants, shops and two grocery stores within 5 minutes walk. The home was perfect. The entire home was clean and well kept. But, the real joy of this property was Alan, Raymundo and Liliana. The home is staff by them. Liliana arrived everyday to keep the home tidy, made beds, refreshed towels/linens as needed. Alan and Raymundi were basically our Cartagena concierges. We bought breakfast fixing and they made us breakfast with fresh colombian coffee every morning. They hailed our taxis, booked our private boat, booked our private Aviary tour, made dinner reservations, walked us to the market and helped us shop, took us through a tour of Getsanami poured our wine or cold beer while we lounged in the cooling pool, or living room..and helped with any questions. 5 stars...if you have any thoughts of visiting Cartagena, this home is your answer. We loved every minute of our stay!!! Thank you all ...mucho gracias :)
