Lovely property in an amazing setting.

From initial booking our contact with Camilla was very helpful. She answered our questions promptly and provided thorough information as our stay approached. The property was in a beautiful rural location but within 15 minutes of Caylus with bars and a small but well stocked supermarket. We loved the pool surrounded by lavender and views of the countryside. The house itself was clean and well equipped for our group of 6. The air conditioning was a real bonus with temperatures of 30 -38 degrees during our stay. We found our stay very relaxing and would certainly recommend the property for those seeking a break in the French countryside.

We are so happy to hear you were refreshed by the AC units in the house, and enjoyed the saltwater pool. We love Caylus for it’s amply stocked Petit Casino and it’s lively square where all the locals and tourists intermingle. You are welcome back anytime!! Wonderful guests!

Didnt want to leave this enchanting spot!

We arrived at the house just as the sun was setting onto the stunning pigeonnaire and gardens. It's so beautiful there at that time of day! The house is like something from a fairy tale, surrounded by fields with wildflowers. There is a large comfortable living room with a big open fireplace and tasteful comfortable furniture. The kitchen is well stocked and opens onto a shaded patio where you can have all your meals. The house and gardens are very well looked after and have such a great energy. We had a full moon when we were staying there and the sight of it rising up above the hill was one I will never forget. You do need a car as it's ten minutes drive to Caylus and there are lots of picturesque villages to visit in the immediate area. I was there with my sister, our husbands and our Mum and all of us loved the place. I would like to go back in Winter and sit by that gorgeous fireplace! Camilla couldn't have been more helpful with the questions we had before we arrived and answered all our emails promptly (and let me tell you there were A LOT of questions!). All in all a great place to stay with family and friends! Kelly P - Los Angeles, USA

Kelly, thank you so much for writing this lovely review. I'm thrilled you had a wonderful family vacation at my house - and your mother found it as magical as you did, especially as you were celebrating her birthday. June is the perfect month for barbequeing on the lawn and kayaking! I hope you return soon. You were wonderful guests!

Pure relaxation

Posted Sep. 26, 2016 on HomeAway
We've spent two relaxing weeks in this lovely cottage in August with two kids and a dog. The cottage is beautifully furnished with some great antique finds - I was tempted to put some in the boot of the car to take home ;-).The pool and garden are very well kept; we enjoyed lounging by the pool, swinging in the hammock and the occasional competitive game of table tennis. The cottage is very remote so a bit of driving is involved to explore the area but the towns are stunning and the kayaking in Saint Antonin was great fun. The owner Camilla has been a pleasure to deal with, she responded quickly to any emails despite the time difference. We can definitely highly recommend the farm house!!

I am so happy you enjoyed your stay! This house is our family home more than a "vacation rental" and we are happy have considered what our guests would enjoy during their stay. We have bikes , table tennis, boules and the pool in the large garden to enjoy at home. Lovely walks in stunning countryside to the chapel of St Symphorien and then through what we have nicknamed the "Fairy Forest", complete with a Source of water blessed by the Saint and his monks. The farmhouse is situated only 9 mins drive from the thriving medieval village of Caylus which has many little restaurants and cafes, boulangeries, grocery and wine stores. A car is certainly necessary but you are also near to a village with everything you could need - and surrounded by beautiful medieval villages to visit in the region, including St Antonin, the hub for all sportive activities in the region. Kayaking is a must!

Magnifique séjour !

Posted Sep. 7, 2021 on HomeAway

I am so happy you loved staying at Le Pigeonnier! We want our guests to feel at home and very comfortable . Every season we add something to the property to make it even better! This year it is the stone barbeque in the garden, solar lanterns and sprinklers in the front lawn! You were wonderful guests and we look forward to your return!

Un havre de paix décoré avec beaucoup de goût

Posted Nov. 2, 2018 on HomeAway

We are glad that you found the house clean and the gardens also nicely landscaped. We like to maintain a very high standard for our guests. The house is 9 minutes drive Caylus for grocery shopping, and also in a quiet hamlet for the peace and serenity.

The Pigionier is a very comfortable and cousy family holidayhome

Posted Aug. 3, 2016 on HomeAway
The Pigionier is a very comfortable and cousy family holidayhome with a very well equipted kitchen, a cosy livingroom, three sufficient bathrooms and two separate, spacious sleeping rooms. Everything you want from a holidayhome is there. The garden is large and has four spaces for leisure and relax, a nice swimming pool and lots of outdoor furniture. The views are nice and the location is very tranquile but not isolated. Caylus and Saint Antonin Val Noble are the two villages nearby where you can find all the shops and restaurants you need. These towns are however not on walking distance, you need a car to get there. But the roads are good so there is no problem. During our stay we faced only one problem and that is the amount of flies inside the house and in the garden. Mayby it was the time of the year (july), but there were moments during the day and night that to many of these little buggers were active and spoiled our sunbathing, reading sessions and outdoor eatings. Also there were many bees and wasps around the swimming pool with was a bit annoying during swimming.

The house is very well appointed in that it is only 9 mins drive from Caylus which is a lovely village with all amenities. We strive to provide a very comfortable rustic experience for our guests, where everything needed for relaxing , cooking, sunbathing and swimming is provided. This is our family "home away from home" first and foremost, and we want our guests to sense this immediately they arrive. It is true that there are more insects round the pool in the summer as they are attracted to the water when it is hot. This can be disconcerting, but we have discovered that they are un aggressive , and no one has ever been stung to our knowledge, which is a great thing to know! Keeping the doors and windows closed prevents flies getting in the house, but for the ones that do sneak in, we provide sticky fly strips, which is a very effective method for catching them. Its the countryside, and this region does not use pesticide, therefore we humans can enjoy delicious organic meats and vegetables , but the flip side is that the area is also healthy enviroment for ALL living creatures, including those "annoying" insects.....!
