This was a very cute historical space in a good price range and a great location for Charleston. We were able to walk to everything in the historic corner, many shelves and restaurants, museums, etc.. The kitchen house is in the back of a beautiful old home, historically it would have been the kitchen for the main house where servant quarters were above the kitchen. There were many historical furnishings in the home, but yet it continued to many modern inconveniences. It was the perfect amount of room for the two of us and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast items provided by the host which were left in thethe refrigerator for us upon arrival. The little garden outside of the kitchen house and the parking spot off the street were wonderful perks. I highly recommend this stay
Property was exactly as expected and great location. We wanted to enjoy the historic atmosphere of Charleston and this location added to the experience. The courtyard is a plus, great for cup of coffee or glass of wine. The only negative comment is there was open food in refrigerator and cabinets; unsure why but, did that feel safe to utilize it.
We loved our stay. Everything was perfect and the bed was super comfy. Great location. Never needed to move the car - we could walk to all of the stores and dining. Nice quiet neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again
The kitchen garden cottage on 6 Orange Avenue was a delight. It was a wonderful representation of Charleston heritage. Location was great. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Small room attached to he main house. Steep, narrow stairs leading to the bedroom. No TV in the bedroom and no air. Very hot and couldnt sleep. Stairs were not listed in description and my friend had a broken foot and was extremely hard to get up thr narrow stairs. We checked out the very next morning and have had zero communication from manager. Ive called and emailed. Hoping for a partial refund. Also its no where close to main streets. We had to uber everywhere. Hotel was much cheaper than this place. Would never stay again
Having experienced a variety of accommodations around the world, this is truly one of our favorites. The ideal location is made even better by the thoughtful and charming elements of this property. The guest quarters are in a beautifully renovated kitchen house that is set in a charming and welcoming garden. The first floor includes a small but functional kitchen and a sitting area. A photobook provides a history of the renovation of the space and a glass cabinet displays artifacts discovered onsite. The host thoughtfully stocked the refrigerator with eggs, milk, yogurt, coffee, juice and frozen quiche and a bowl held a variety of fresh fruit. A plate of delicious banana bread was waiting for us. Up the stairs is a charming bedroom with a comfortable queen bed and a twin iron framed bed. A dresser and closet provide ample room to unpack. The bathroom is nicely done in marble and the shower is better than most.
The best element of this charming property however are the hosts. Becky and Bob are a delightful and welcoming couple living in the attached home and they welcomed us as though we were family visiting from afar. Their thoughtfulness and kindness will not be forgotten.
This is truly a special place. Do yourself a favor and enjoy it.
We came to a wedding at the Citadel and stayed at this wonderful bnb. It was close to the venue and reception and walking distance to downtown. My husband and my daughter had plenty of room. It was clean and the host was very welcoming. We enjoyed our stay so much. We would love to come back on our next trip to Charleston!!!
The perfect spot to see most of historic Charleston by foot. Most everything was within a 15 minute walk in all directions. Becky was a gracious host and certainly takes pride in her cozy B&B on Orange street. The kitchen house was spotless and full of amenities. We loved our stay and would go back without hesitation.
Very nice place, clean and has everything you could thing of, wonderful garden, in the heart of the city, we really enjoyed every minute during our stay, will defiantly come back again.
It was perfect in every way. The accommodation was immaculate and ideally furnished. The owners could not have been kinder or more helpful. Even though we rented a car, everything was within walking distance. I hope we are able to return one day.
Becky and Bill have created a beautifully restored, "dependency" building in the historic South of Broad neighborhood into a comfortable cottage. It lacked nothing, providing delicious breakfast goodies and snacks, a comfortable garden in nice weather, and an easy walk to everything in historic Charleston. We would visit there again with no hesitation.
