The Meeting Street Inn is a very unique and pretty hotel. It’s close to restaurants and the market place. However it is not a quiet place. The floors squeak and the trash trucks and fire trucks go down the street with their sirens every day. The rooms are not well insulated so it is frequently noisy with constant coming and goings. The breakfast is good, the wine and cheese reception is good and the nightly cookies were good. However our very first night the power went out due to an accident involving the transformer. Apparently this has happened before but there didn’t seem to be any kind of a plan to deal with getting guests to their rooms or communicating to the guests what happened and how to handle it. Definitely room for improvement.
The Inn is an upscale motel. The furnishings are nice. The breakfast and afternoon happy hour offered a good and plentiful variety. Because of its location in the middle of town, the wall unit air conditioner/heater and people walking by the room, it was hard for me to sleep with intermittent noises. My travelling companion had no trouble though.
This inn was wonderful! Located in the historic area, we had access to great restaurants and tour options. Its southern charm made it comfortable, at a reasonable price! The evening wine and cheese reception was a really nice touch. And the breakfast was great.
It is in the historic district, it is a charming building with a nice courtyard and jacuzzi pool. They have a complementary breakfast in the morning and cheese and wine in the afternoon. Very nice!
The location is excellent for a visit to Charleston. Rooms were well-maintained though I didn't like the shower enclosure (one of those half glass enclosures that allows a lot of spillage to the floor),
The evening wine and cheese and hot chocolate and coolies were a nice touch. The breakfast was okay. The yogurt was excellent.
The appetizer and wine gathering was perfect. We were able to meet other guests and exchange stories. Very cozy and comfortable.

Heater needed a new filter, it spewed out black dust onto clothing that was placed on a chair near the heater. Shower had only 1 shower door, water easily left the floor outside of shower very wet. Lots of dust kitties on floor in room. Not enough dining seating areas for continental breakfast
Arrived early and asked about valet parking our car. Diamond at the front stated they could park it but they no room in the “closet” for our bags. So we had to leave our luggage in the car. The valet, Johnnie, then followed us out and said we could leave our bags out in the lobby to prevent him from having to bring our car back and unload bags later. He did not want to be bothered with moving the car. We declined his offer. When we returned around 5pm to check in it was a nightmare. They couldn’t find our car and couldn’t get in touch with the workers who were there earlier to find out where it was. We waited for an hour for them to find our car, my husband had to unload all of our luggage. We missed our 6pm dinner reservation for our anniversary due to waiting on our bags in the car. The next morning at check out Diamond was back and said “sorry about your car last night, I had to get out of here and don’t leave a note about where your car was”. She said “we didn’t charge you for parking”. Mind blown at her tone and disrespectful attitude. We tried to go with a smaller boutique hotel versus Charleston Place where we usually stay for relatively the same price. I do not recommend this hotel, other than location everything else is terrible.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The self-parking lot was a short way from the inn. You can park in front of the hotel for unloading and loading of luggage. It is in a good location for walking to much of the area.
Small inn close to many tourist spots for a reasonable price. We were happily provided happy hour wine and cheese, late night cookies and breakfast each day of our stay. The inn has updated bathrooms, the beds and pillows are comfy and everything was clean and tidy. The staff is helpful.
My mother in law and I loved the hotel. Excellent location to walk to experiences, shopping, points of interest, and restaurants. Beds were very comfortable, room was clean and nicely done. The only issue was in the remodeled bathroom which was beautiful but the glass wall for the shower needs to be extended because water goes everywhere. We mentioned this to the front desk and were told they are working on this. Loved the fact we got breakfast, wine and cheese reception, hot chocolate and cookies. Definitely would stay again!!
The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and informative! Location is excellent for walking to shops, museums and dining. Wonderful area and would definitely stay here again.
