The room was clean and tidy & had everything we needed. It would have been helpful weâd been advised that there was an engagement party & live band playing that night as we were staying as we were running the Delamere Forest Marathon the next morning and hoping for an early night as we had an early start. As the rooms were directly above the music there was no chance of this! The music did stop just after 11pm so not too bad!
The room was small but comfortable, plenty of parking at the property 3 of the rooms at least overlook the car park which is good for security. Unfortunately the kitchen was not open on the day which was disappointing and was not communicated prior to the booking, local eateries were limited if you didn't want to drive. Also the breakfast did not start until 8.30am which was no good when I had to be out early in the morning. Again this was not communicated prior to the booking and no compensatory discount was offered. Overall value for money wasn't great due to the lack of meals, although the room was comfortable and the staff seemed friendly
The bedroom very spacious, but sparsely furnished- no bedside tables no chest of drawers or dressing table, requires redecorating. The food on Monday evening was fine and Wednesday the breakfast was good, but no food available on Tuesdays which we were not advised until Monday.
We received a warm welcome upon arrival from Kenny and his staff, We had a day a Chester races planned and were struggling to get a taxi so Kenny stepped in to save the day and kindly took us in his car.
The rooms were clean, tidy and had tea and coffee making facilities and The En Suite bathroom was well equipped and a decent size with plenty of room in the shower. The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise outside so a good nights sleep is assured.
The full english breakfast is highly recommended and the service was second to none.
I would highly recommend The George to anyone visiting Chester.
Thank You Kenny and your staff for an enjoyable stay.
A group of us rented all of the rooms out for a nearby wedding. The service given from the staff was exceptional. Very friendly, repeatedly went above and beyond. Great rooms and great breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel. Rooms have great facilities, fan, speaker, TV, tea and coffee facilities. Would definitely come back.
Stayed as part of a group for 1 night. Fabulous experience, so welcoming & helpful. Lovely clean room with everything we needed. Amazing breakfast, everyone chose different options & all arrived, hot, fresh & huge portions! Definitely recommend & would stay again if in the area.
The new owners have only been there since March 2024 so any previous reviews are for others and not relevant. Customer service was second to none and couldn't have been better. Very accommodating to dietary requirements. Lovely breakfast and evening meal. Lovely atmosphere.
Decor is a little tired in places but easily remedied. Shower pressure in my room was very low but others in our group were happy with theirs.
Fantastic stay - The family that run the pace take such good care of you. The breakfast was fantastic and the pub is a lovely spot. you can't hear it when you're in the rooms
I really enjoyed staying at G&D. The family who took over made this little Inn very welcoming for everyone including pets.
The room was very cosy and clean, everyone was very friendly, the food is tasty and the menu has something for everyone. It's very quiet during the night and I couldn't hear music in the pub even though it was playing downstairs. Great location and parking. Overall I think it's a lovely place to stay and great value for money. I couldn't have asked for more.
I would definitely stay here again if I'm around Chester.
Room was nice, Bed was very comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. Only downside was there wasnât anyone available when we wanted to check out, tried calling but no answer, breakfast started very late at 8:30 so we missed that too.
