Loved that we could make breakfast there with the waffle maker and mix! ❤️ the owners gave us great directions on check in and check out. Would have loved to meet them but never saw them. Felt like we were the only ones there! Highly recommend this place for your northern IN stay! Very close to the dunes and sweet little towns.

This family was great from the very start they had the master plan of having a great time during their stay in the area, taking full advantage of the trails, and the local cuisine, from Chesterton to New Buffalo, which included a number of great meals, after which relaxation came very easy as they fully unwinded and enjoyed the comfort of their space, awaiting the next day’s adventures. We look forward to our 1541 family returning soon to their home away from home as we will be waiting.

EVERYTHING in the home is comfortable, tasteful, inviting and spotless! The location was convenient for visiting the Indiana Dunes State & National Parks. We had a wonderful time & will definitely be back!

It was refreshing to have wonderful extended family guests come in and get right into the Dunes experience, the trails minutes from their living quarters, the cool waters of the Lake Michigan beaches, food and local fun for the entire family to take advantage of, and at the end of their adventurous day, return to the comfort of 1541, for a relaxing and refreshing evening. We can only imagine they certainly took advantage of their shared family time having everything at their fingertips to make it enjoyable home away experience, which when ready each could break away and have a moment to reflect on the day’s joyful experiences which certainly would relax the mind for great nights sleep in anticipating another great family day in the Dune’s. truly now family of 1541, we look forward to your return. Thanks for just being great, true nature, yourselves and others.

The “lower level” at 1541 is an all around efficient next level designed space, and we apologize for your inconvenience, “as our guests comfort is our top priority”, that’s why we make every effort to ensure we keep each residential space at a central temperatures around 68o -69o degrees F in summer, yet we know that the comfort level may very from person to person; so we make sure our guests packet includes gas fire place operation’s information and this is always available for our guests comfort in the event they prefer additional warmth at anytime; as the fireplace will heat the entire space in minutes; even as the central system adjustments are being made in a very timely manner when notified or requested.

Ideal space for family outing
Publié le 5 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayMy husband, young daughter and mother-in-law stayed here while visiting Indiana Dunes, and we had a wonderful experience. We brought our bikes and loved biking on the paths throughout the area to the dunes and other places. Chesterton is an awesome town, and the property was clean, nice and had everything we could have needed. It was awesome to have full access to the garage to store our bikes and to come and go with them.

It was great having this wonderful family as they came off the highway, to driveway, and straight to the bike trails which was a great choice as it is always full of nature at its best; and there was always something new for this family of adventure and fun to dive into including the Great Lake off of one of the many dunes beaches, and great food at every turn. It was a joy having them they came as guests and left as family. We will be awaiting their return as the keys will always be waiting for family.

Weekend with Friends

This location is a full two bedroom apartment in the lower level of the owners home. The neighborhood is very quiet and the home is very well cared for.
The hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We were even allowed to park our car in the garage. The apartment was very comfortable and feels like home.
We would definitely stay with Reggie & LaJewell again!

We were excited our guests had the opportunity to spend some quality time in the Dune’s as they work their way across many of the nation’s national parks over time. We enjoyed every moment of their stay, they were very quiet, considerate, and left the space cleaner than, when they arrived, we look forward to their return as they were great to host. Bill was the best! Self motivated and running on the first day as he took on the local winter season which turned out not to so bad during his stay, which allowed him more time to exercise his way all across the Dune’s area, while also leaving him plenty of time to plan for his future marriage and spend time with family enjoying the local treats and traditions. Bill needless to say is now family and can have the house keys at any time he returns to his home away.

Weekend stay

The apartment is in the lower level of a lovely home in a quiet residential neighborhood. They allowed for one car in the garage. The decor is modern and tasteful and beds extremely comfortable. There is a fully equipped kitchen with more than anyone could possibly need. The linens were hotel quality and the towels soft and thick. We never saw the owners but they texted us to make sure all was well - and it was! They even put up a Christmas tree for us. Nice touch! Thanks for a great holiday stay. Maybe we will see you again next year if Christmas is in Valpo.

This is the season for family, and we were so happy to be hosting this wonderful family group from Belize, and Kentucky area to celebrate with family and friends, and we were very happy for them as we are all about the holidays and family.

Wedding Weekend

Very nice man and very welcoming! The property looks just like the pictures. Super clean and feels just like home. The decor is very nice! We will definitely rent this property again. Thank you!
