Nice place, but....

Really nice spot down a quiet side street 2 mins from the old city. It's just a shame the walls are so paper thin. You can hear everything from the rooms next door as well as everything in the communal space outside. Everything else was fine - nice staff, nice little garden to chill out in - it's just pot luck whether you'll get any sleep. If your neighbour wants to watch Fast and Furious at 2am you've had it!

Tree residence

I stayed here for 4 nights. It's located very close to the Tha Phae Gate(16min walk). Although you will have to cross some busy roads. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom is what you would expect in Thailand ( toilet and bathroom together in a confined box type room) but was fine. It's a quiet accomodation so not recommended if you want to meet people. Also doesn't have a smoking area, so had to walk to the road to have smokes. Overall it's a great place to stay. there is a laundry shop 10meters from the place and they charge around 60baht for 1kg of clothes (wash and dry).

Quiet, convenient and close to the old city

We've stayed here at least 5 times before, it's in a quiet back street but is within 3 minutes walk to Wualai rd for yellow. red and blue buses, 6 minutes walk and your at Chiang Mai gate (south gate) for food, drink and local markets. Staff are friendly and will do what they can once they understand what you want. The hotel is an old apartment block, renovated in 2012, however now that the reality of low occupancy rates have set in the owners are neglecting maintenance, the A/C in our room only had 1 fan speed (slow) and no adjustment of any setting including temperature would make any difference. As it was very hot every day +40c the A/C was ineffective. The WIFI network in the hotel is good, however the internet connection is not, for the last 4 days we were there the internet worked for maybe 5 or 10 minutes total, we ended up using a local internet SIM card. As our plane left at 4.50pm and as they were not busy a late check out was not a problem. Even with these shortcomings it is still reasonably good value.

Vacation time in Chiang Mai

This was my second visit at the Tree Residences hotel. The employees are very nice, and the room is very comfortable. It is a short 15 minute walk from the downtown area. Many places to eat around the hotel, and the saturday market makes the hotel, a primal place. I will come again to the hotel.

Not acceptable....choose another hotel

Room was not clean. Used soap left in the shower tray and ants throughout the bathroom. Dirt and dust coating the bathroom window and ledge. Please note that no picture is provided of "standard" rooms. This is because they have not been renovated like the others that are pictured. The standard room we stayed was old, run down and not worth the money. The AC barely worked as well. Will not be staying here again.

Charming residence. Very friendly people, eager to help even though there was a language barrier. 2 minute walk to a street market, shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, and massage parlours.

i love this place

I've been coming and going out of Chiang Mai for a couple of months now backpacking thru south east Asia and this has been my go to place. For a budget traveler like myself this was a gem to find. The people working there are great!!! Real friendly and helpful. Even if its 3 in the morning. The bed is comfortable. Room is clean and a good size. Wifi works really good and fast. And the TV is great with American movie channels. It has everything I look for and at this price its crazy how cheap it is for all of this. Truely a great find!!! Thats why I keep coming back.

Clean, quiet and close to the old city!

I enjoyed my stay here. It is a quiet street, and the hotel is very quiet as well. They discourage loud noise and smoking on the premises, so it is a great place to get away for a breath of fresh air (so to speak), yet close enough to easily walk to the famous Chiang Mai Gate night food market, and other local attractions.

charming place, good location

Simple and comfortable nice room with the charm of a lanna wooden floor. The most quiet room of the place, on the second floor. Big TV screen, good internet connexion and performant aircon. Staff cheerful and helpful. Lovely tiny garden. Good location in a quiet soi near Chiang Mai gate, at the door of the Saturday market.

チェンマイ門から近く、とても便利な場所です。レンタルバイクを借りて行ったら、部屋の近くに停めて良いと、教えてくれました。部屋は広く、シャワールームとトイレが区切られているので、快適に過ごせました。スタッフの方々の感じも良く、次回も泊まりたい～と思いました。

นั่งตุ๊กๆจากสนามบินมา โโนเรียก 60 บาทแต่ต่อรองเหลือ 50 บาท มาถึงก็เหมือนๆในเวปและ google street โดยรวมโอเค หลังจากรับกุญแจเดินมาที่ห้องอาจผิดคาดไปหน่อย ทางเดินไปยังห้องดูเก่าๆ เกือบลืมไปว่านี่ห้อง 500 นะ แต่ก็เหมาะสมกับราคาครับ
