Miss Ida is brand-new construction, yet she beautifully evokes the charm of Chincoteague of yesteryear. A stunning blend of modern amenities and traditional styling provides extraordinary comfort, while the classic 1920s-inspired architecture and antique furnishings transport you to a bygone era.

The queen bedroom includes a private half bath, and the second bedroom, with two twin beds, is conveniently located beside the full hallway bathroom.

Enjoy wonderful outdoor spaces on both the rear screened porch and the inviting front porch—perfect for relaxing after a day of island adventures.

For larger groups, Miss Ida can also be rented together with the neighboring home, Myrtle on Mumford.

Overall we had a fantastic stay. It was our first time in Chincoteague. We enjoyed the small town vibe. Easy walk to Main St. and to get ice cream. We went to the beach 4 times - very nice to park so close to the beach. The house was lovely and met our needs. One of the cleanest VRBO's we've ever stayed at. We enjoyed both porches very much!Just a few notes for future travelers:1. You'll need to pick up house keys at Island Getaways, a rental property company. We did not receive the check-in instructions, but we eventually figured it out. 2. You will also want to request sheets, and bring towels. That part was not clear to us either. 3. The kitchen is very nice, with the basics covered. Not stocked with extras like napkins, salt & pepper, foil, etc. But there are plenty of cupboards and storage spaces which is helpful. Water and Ice from the fridge was great.4. Hidden gem: a fun surprise was an amazing little sandwich place called Drop In Sandwich Shop. Very good food and nice picnic area to eat at.

Perfect for a quick get away

We really enjoyed our stay with our five year old daughter. The house was clean and on a quiet street, and we really enjoyed playing board games and eating meals on the screen porch. A one block walk to dining options and water views, and a 10 minute drive from other large attractions. Some of the decor was not to our taste (everything seemed to be donated from funeral homes?) but it added some charm.

Charming cottage

We enjoyed our week's stay in the Miss Ida cottage for pony penning week. The modern kitchen made meal preparation easy. Living room seating was plentiful and comfortable. The queen bed was extremely comfortable and the bath and a half were clean and modern. Amidst the modern conveniences the cottage was decorated with Victorian era pieces and actual photos of Misty and Clarence Beebe. The location was conveniently located to Main Street and the Carnival grounds so walking down to watch the ponies parade up Main to the grounds was ideal. Miss Ida was a lovely place to stay and i recommend it when visiting Chincoteague Island.

Awesome House, Not so for Management Company

The Miss Ida house is so unique and lovely. A recent build with old craftsman charm and quality. The house is furnished with antiques, collectibles, and heirloom furniture - not your typical rental house! While the house is enjoyably extra, the management, Island Getaways is a bare minimum type manager. You have to request bed sheets (and return them to the office when you check out), don't get any towels (only beach towels were mentioned as a bring your own in the listing), single ply toilet paper (yes it's on septic, but still), a threat of a $100 fine if you do not use the bedding that you requested, have to take out all your trash, no personal touches, and checking is at 4pm and checkout at 10am - minimal. A few notes: there is a shower on the back deck - the head is fixed and will spray out onto the deck if you are not careful. The listing includes "kayak/canoe" as an amenity, but there is not one and Island Getaways was unable to find that in the listing to remove it. Outdoor space is limited to the driveway/parking area. Again, the house is awesome - the whole experience could be better with a better/more involved management company.
