The welcome mat is out at spectacular Ariel's Grotto - only minutes from Assateague National Seashore, home of the Famous Wild Ponies! This 3 Bedroom/2.5 Bath Home is simply stunning. Located on a very quiet street mid-island, this awesome Chincoteague Vacation Home is sure to make all of your Vacation Dreams come true!

As you enter this Coastal Cape, you will feel as if you stepped into Coastal Style Magazine. Cool colors of Sand & Sea welcome you, with hints of fun Nautical Red throughout. The spacious Foyer is a great place to kick off your shoes and leave your worries by the door - you won't be needing them during your time here on our Island!

Ariel's Grotto opens to Soaring Ceilings and tons of glorious Natural Light. This home was designed with Easy Beach Living in mind. The gleaming Bamboo Floors and pale Blue Walls instantly make you feel at ease! You'll love relaxing in the huge Living Area with Cable TV and Free WiFi. An oversized sectional sofa ensures there is room for all, and there is even a Fireplace to take the chill off those Off-Season Evenings. What a great place to curl up with a good book or get lost in a movie with the family, and the Owners have thoughtfully provided books, games, and movies for your enjoyment!

Just around the bend you will find the spacious Dining Area with seating for 6 to 8, which opens to the Gourmet Kitchen. There is also seating at the Breakfast Bar for quick meals before hitting the Beach. Ariel's Grotto has a great set-up for the Chef in your family with tons of countertop space, a Cook Top Island, every gadget imaginable, and beautiful Tile Flooring. The whimsical Coastal Decor and gorgeous Sea Green Walls make it a wonderful place to sip a glass of wine while whipping up some fresh Local Chincoteague Seafood! Is the weather too nice to dine indoors? Just a few steps off the Kitchen, gorgeous French Doors open to a huge Screened-in Porch with Dining Table. Listen to the trees rustle in the salty air and take it all in. A Gas Grill is provided on the Patio just off the Porch for grilling some burgers, or maybe that Flounder you caught Surf Fishing!

Ariel's Grotto has a convenient 1st Floor Master Bedroom with Master Bath, featuring a brand new King Bed and more fabulous colors that just make you happy to be there. This offers privacy for Mom and Dad, or is handy if someone in your group prefers not to use the stairs. There is a Walk-in Shower Combo in the Bathroom and lots of storage. Also on the 1st Floor is a Half Bath that is adjacent to the Kitchen and Living Area!

As you wander upstairs, you'll find 2 more Bedrooms with charming Beachy Decor. Bedroom 2 features 2 Queen Beds, a TV, and lots of space. The house was very accommodating, nicely furnished, and well supplied with everything you could imagine needing. Unfortunately, the entertainment system and WI-FI never worked for long (only 10 minutes maybe before freezing up over and over again). Imagine 3 days with a 5 year old on a rainy weekend with no entertainment. Also, without WI-FI we exceeded our cell phone data plans multiple times. Finally, although not as critical, the exterior garbage can disappeared on the second day and never came back. Had to keep the garbage inside with us. Communicated multiple times during our stay with the agency on all this. They said they dispatched a technician, but no one ever showed. Conversations with them after the vacation was over were disappointing. They knew we were dissatisfied but never made any attempt to contact us. I'm guessing they were hoping we would just forget about it. I reached out to them a few days afterwards and they were focused on getting documentation on our data plan overages. Kind of felt like adding insult to injury.

A bit strange

They have some sort of a camera out front to the right that emits a very high frequency that was quite disturbing to the kids.After researching I found this. "The Mosquito or Mosquito alarm is a machine used to deter loitering by emitting sound at high frequency. In some versions, it is intentionally tuned to be heard primarily by younger people"....We can't be the only ones...it's not for mosquito control. After the rain, the back yard to the left was a huge pond literally complete with a large group of tidal birds walking thru it... The master bedroom has a huge stain in front of the dresser...I really got tired of standing on it so I put a towel over it..The cute porch was so dirty took my time out to scrub the large white table but too many dead and alive bugs so kids wouldn't go out there??? The washer had quite a bit of sand that I cleaned....Dryer vent filled with lint???We were charged quit a bit for cleaning and it was not up to standards!!! I thought it was funny that the note said Our house was cleaned and inspected to be be sure it was done right? There needs to be curtains on the back French doors and front doors .You can see straight thru into the house....Go outside walk around the house at night and you can see into every room on the first floor. Even the master bedroom room....Could have been a cute place but with all that going on we will look elsewhere.Not wasting our time for someone to come over and do what should have been done in the first place

Thing-a-ma-bobs? They’ve got plenty!

Ariel’s grotto is a well stocked house with plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen, especially, had just about anything we could think of. There were puzzles, games, and books for the whole family. The closet of beach gear was also an appreciated amenity.There are two items that caused a struggle while we were there. One was the Nest system. You set it to one temperature and when you come back it has adjusted itself to something completely different. The second issue was with the check out instructions. They send you one set in the email, but the house binder has another set that requires a lot more work. I had misplaced my phone, so I grabbed the binder to help and we wound up scurrying around for an extra 30-45 minutes trying to completed tasks that seemed wildly extra and in reality didn’t need to be done.Please update the binder!

So restful!

Our stay over Christmas was exactly what we needed it to be. The neighborhood was extremely quiet. The house was spacious and roomy for our family of 5. The grocery store and a few local restaurants were right near by. We would have stayed longer if we could have!

My wife and I were very pleased with the cleanliness of the property. We both have allergies and scent sensitivities, and the home was very clean and not perfumed with heavily scented cleaning products. The property management was very responsive to questions and concerns.

Beautiful home, great location. Some annoyances.

It was overall a nice stay. The house is quite beautiful and generally well stocked with home items. King bed was really nice. Queens were ok. Did not use the twin/trundle. Nice TV/games/appliances. Some things to note: The thermostats tend to reset overnight. Was surprisingly chilly a couple mornings and we woke up cold. There was some trash left on the back deck. For the amount charged as a cleaning fee I don’t expect to have to wash AND put away all the dishes. Go around and empty all waste baskets and remove all trash to the outside receptacle as well as make sure all countertops are clean and wiped down. The cookware is pretty seasoned, the non sticks could be replaced. Definitely need a couple more spatulas. The couple they have are very thick and hard to utilize at times. If you like to sleep late, bring a sleep mask because it is a BRIGHT house. The shades on the windows offer diffusion, but that’s it. If you’re watching tv while it’s light out there will be monster glare on the tv whether the shade is closed or not. Kitchen needs a little maintenance. Some drawers hit trim pieces next to the fridge and stove when they open. Overall I’d rate it a 3.75/5. Would consider returning.

We had a wonderful vacation. The home was large enough when the 6 who were not staying with us 6 came for dinner and to play, no one was on top of each other - we had 12 total at times! Just a note, although a gas grill is pictured, all that the home has for outdoor grilling is a very small charcoal grill - messed up some of our grilling plans

My family of 5 had a very nice stay. The property is roomy and in great shape overall and well furnished. There is a picture of Ariel in the entry way and my little kids loved staying “at the Little Mermaid’s house.” It’s also in a very convenient location, close to all of the restaurants and activities on the island. We would definitely return in the future!

Nice place with beach style decor. The master is perfect. I did wish the stairs were not so steep. The porch steps are a little daunting for people with knee issues, a ramp in the back would be helpful. Quiet neighbor hood and comfortable surroundings. Overall stay was a nice get away with family.

This home is a fantastic place to stay. Quiet neighborhood in the middle of the island. Comfortable beds. Nice showers and kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and plate ware and silverware. Definitely will stay here again . A great experience.

Cozy house, close to everything

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was just as pictured with high ceilings, comfortable beds and a large kitchen. It was nice to have the fireplace because it was unusually cold this weekend. The only thing I would mention if you have small kids is that the shades let in a lot of light which makes for early morning wakings and difficult nap times!
