The Courtyard overlooking Kiftsgate Court Gardens
The Courtyard is located at the heart of Kiftsgate Court and overlooks the surrounding countryside and famous gardens. The living room, dining room, kitchen, and first bathroom are on the first floor. The super king size bedroom, king size bedroom, twin single bedroom, and bathroom are on the second floor. The guests are encouraged to enjoy the gardens as many times as they wish during opening hours. There is also a lawn nearby to enjoy picnics during the day and barbecues in the evenings.
Wonderfully roomy and clean property with beautiful views across the countryside. Beds were super comfy and kitchen was well stocked. Even managed to cook a Christmas dinner for a large family gathering. Getting the right shower temperature proved a little tricky but it didnât dampen our spirits at this superb accommodation. Rob was also very communicative and always happy to help where needed.
The Courtyard at Kiftsgate is simply fabulous. The 3 bedroom apartment not only met every need of 4 adults during our recent stay, but did so in style. The renovated kitchen is slick yet practical, and when we felt a bit more formal we used the generously-sized dining room--quite a rarity for a VRBO property. OR, you can pop down into the cafe for a quick lunch, or even nibble your sandwich on a bench in the lower garden. All four of us lounged comfortably in the living room and took advantage of the fireplace on a particularly chilly evening, which Rob made especially easy with a big basket of kindling and firewood. The beds and bedding are of superior quality, and with the leaded glass windows flung open to let in the crisp air, garden scents, and QUIET, we felt fully immersed in the ideal experience of the English countryside.
What makes the Courtyard exceptional, however, is its location and the views. From its perch in the large house, just about every room of the apartment looks onto the legendary Kiftsgate gardens and the Malvern hills. We found ourselves gathering for the sunsets and the twinkling lights of Mickelton in the evenings, and took note of the new blossoms in the sunk garden every morning. Thoroughly enchanting.
Chipping Campen itself is a charming town, with restaurants and shops(we loved the Bakewell bars and Victoria sponge from Bantam Tea Room), but should you desire more adventure it is well-situated for exploring the Cotswolds. Train stations in Honeybourne or Moreton-in-Marsh make further exploring easy, even for these first-time visitors.
Rob is an extremely polite, attentive, and responsive host. He has thoroughly thought through the guest experience, from the quality of the bath towels to dishwasher/washing machine tabs. He even graced our arrival with a lovely bouquet from the garden and a bottle of prosecco. Check-in was effortless, and he quickly answered every question to our complete satisfaction. We cannot recommend the Courtyard or Rob highly enough, and eagerly await a future visit.
We had a wonderful stay in this magnificent home and spectacular garden. Kiftsgate Court is worth the visit in its own right, but staying here was truly special. Rob and his family were exceptional hosts. While you might never want to leave the property, itâs a perfect jumping off point for sightseeing in the Cotswolds. We highly recommend it and will come again..
