We were on the first floor, which was practically a basement since the building is on a slope. The front went in on level ground, but from the back, you had to enter down about 5 very steep stairs. The room smelled musty and moldy, which is pretty gross. There was a thick layer of dust on picture frames that were hanging in the rooms. The floor futons were not padded at all. The one bed was shockingly firmer than sleeping on the floor.

This was our third time staying at Gyerim Sanjang Motel, and once again, we had a wonderful and comfortable stay. The owners of Gyerim Sanjang are always so considerate and warm-hearted. I always feel safe here and it was a very relaxing and pleasant experience. It is clean and safe. I highly recommend this motel 10/10! Thank you! 계림산장 모텔에서 세 번째로 머물렀는데, 이번에도 역시나 편안하고 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다. 계림산장 사장님들은 항상 배려심이 많고 따뜻하셔서 감사한 마음입니다. 이곳에서는 항상 안심이 되고, 매우 편안하고 기분 좋은 경험이었습니다. 숙소도 깨끗하고 안전해요. 정말 강력히 추천합니다. 10점 만점에 10점! 감사합니다!

The owner of the property was very nice and helpful. The room was basic, but comfortable. Only negatives were lack of nearby restaurants and the handheld shower holder was approximately five feet high. Also note I did not see the hotel name in English anywhere, so a bit difficult to find without Korean alphabet knowledge.

5/5!!! This was a very good place to stay with my family. We arrived very late at night after a long flight and the owner greeted and warmly welcomed us into the hotel. The motel is very clean, warm and cozy. We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The owner is amazing and very kind! She will do her best to help with what you need. A great room in a house

Just think of staying at an OLD house and renting a room from a nice old lady. Everything is very clean and friendly. The room is large with all the amenities and great view of the lake. The lady is very nice and caring making sure I have everything

Cozy Winter Stay

My stay at the hotel was great. The room stayed a nice temperature for the winter and the ondol (floor heater) and fridge never turned off like in some motels I have stayed at. The motel staff were also very nice and friendly. It was in a very quiet area so no outside noise.

The fastest check-in I have ever had. As soon as I walked in the door, I was courteously handed a key with a room number - no names, no papers. Just as well, I had just gotten in after a long day of travel and hiking. The check-out was also fine - the host offered and called me a taxi and waited with me outside until it came. The location is somewhat out of the way, but waterfront. But I think it was nice, it gave me a chance to walk to town along the coast and walk through the super-gimmicky area of the city - "Romantic Chuncheon." The path portrays courtship in bright neon/LED. Somewhat over the top - certainly, but interesting. The hotel is less than a USD5 taxi ride away from the train/bus stations and town center. Overall a good deal, I would be open to staying here again.

Great Value

I've stayed at Gyerim Sanjang several times; the owners are always very welcoming and helpful. It's very unlikely that you'll be going to Chuncheon to stay in your motel room all day. Chuncheon is a small town, so if you like to cycle/walk, then you're never far from anywhere. I usually get a quick taxi ride (from Chuncheon station) to check-in at Gyerim, and then go for a nice walk along the river, which leads to the central food and market areas. I also walk to Chuncheon station after checking out, which is usually a 45 minute stroll of nice scenery, before heading back to the hustle 'n' bustle of Seoul. Overall, it's a great place to put your head down for the night.

Nice ajumma and ajussi running this motel. A little hard to see from the road since you need to travel up a small path to get to the main building and the sign is only in Korean not English but the taxis took us directly in front of it. It is a 10 min taxi ride to go into any large area with restaurants but it's only around 5000 won.
