Unique and cozy apartment in Ciboure

If I ever return to this area, I would stay here again. The host is very attentive, communicative and kind. It's a great location. Pretty central but remarkably quiet. It's easy to get to from both the bus and train station. There is a wonderful view over rooftops to the church bell tower in Ciboure, and one can literally watch the bells ring. There is an excellent market on Sunday mornings that is literally right outside of the apartment building.

Die Kommmunikation mit der Vermieterin bis zu Anreise war soweit in Ordnung. Was wir dann aber in der von uns eigentlich für 4 Tage gemieteten Wohnung vorfanden, hatte nichts mit einer Ferienwohnung zu tun, sondern war eine kürzlich verlassene Privatwohnung – Zahnbürste, Haarbürsten und persönliche Kosmetika im Bad, überall persönlicher Nippes, Kerzenstummel und Wachsreste, vertrocknete Zimmerpflanzen. Schon beim Betreten stank es extrem nach kalten Zigarettenrauch – angeblich hätten die Vormieter unerlaubt geraucht. Im und auf dem Kühl- und Gefrierschrank alte Baguettereste, halb aufgegessene Butterreste, alte Saucen. Die hygienischen Verhältnisse insgesamt erinnerten stark an eine schlecht geführte Studenten-WG. Schon im Eingangsbereich Putzutensilien und Staubsauger neben weiterem Kram – es hatte etwas von einer Rumpelkammer. Der Lichtschalter im Wohnzimmer notdürftig mit Tesafilm fixiert. Für uns war klar: in dieser ungepflegten Wohnung wollten wir keine Nacht verbringen. Wir haben uns extrem unwohl gefühlt und haben der Vermieterin sofort mitgeteilt, dass wir ihre Wohnung aus den geschilderten Gründen nicht nutzen möchten und wieder abreisen. Sie war anfangs sehr ungehalten und unkooperativ, löschte dann aber den Schriftwechsel in WhatsApp (der uns noch vorliegt) und sicherte uns plötzlich schriftlich eine Rückzahlung zu. Auf diese – selbst auf Teilbeträge - warten wir bis heute. Leider hat auch Fewo direkt wenig Unterstützung gezeigt.
