It was a little hard to find an area for my outside to do their business. But a friendly atmosphere. Being seniors we would have appreciated no stairs and the stairs were very narrow to carry our luggage up.

We reported the leaking toilet to the manager, he said it was brand new, big lie it is cracked at the base in front and the crack is black so, no it was not new. It took 3-4 flushes to get toilet paper to go down. I told the manager that as well and that is a huge waste of water. New toilets are low water use and actually flush which I explained to the manager. We asked for a better room, he said none were available, so we put up with the poor bathroom facilities.

The staff were very friendly, but the cleanliness and the poor maintenance of the rooms distracted from the overall stay. A little elbow grease, and some work, this place could be great.

I wouldn’t stay here again, food was horrible and my room was dirty. Thank goodness there was two beds because one of them was obviously previously slept in and sheets were not changed. Stayed one night and never again.

Place looks a bit dilapidated from the outside but the rooms have been renovated and were clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy but I’d stay again. Hot breakfast was included - choice of three items on the restaurant menu. Nice not to have to hunt down a breakfast place.

My wife slipped on the unmarked wet floor and injured her hand and knee. No sign up that the floor was wet. Restaurant was closed. Bar was open but the menu was not what was on the website. Food was poor but service was great. Breakfast was fine. Room was bare and not inviting. However the place was very clean.

The hotel is dated on the outside and in the hallways, but the rooms appear to be recently renovated. I found it odd that no conditioner was provided with the room. I appreciated the full service breakfast that was included with the room. What really upset me with this hotel is that I paid with my Amex when checking in, then when I walked back out to the parking lot 10 minutes later the staff member asked if I would change my payment method so the hotel could save money (Amex has an incredible travel insurance policy, so I refused). For my one night stay, accepting Amex compared to Visa would have cost the property $1-2 extra. I’m all for supporting small businesses, but a hotel asking me to switch payment methods so they could save a buck really didn’t sit well with me. Other than that, it was an average property that was affordable compared to neighbouring options, and close to Wells Gray.

This is a great option for anyone driving through Clearwater or exploring the local trails and lakes. It's conveniently located if you're continuing your road trip the next day. Pictures don't do it justice, it looks better in person! The rooms are clean and comfortable, with all the basic amenities families need. Breakfast is included at the on-site diner—and it was the best one we had on our entire trip from Vancouver to Banff! (Tip: get there early to beat the morning rush—it gets busy.) The hotel follows a motel-style layout, so if you're traveling with family in separate rooms or want to stay close to your vehicle, let the staff know in advance so they can place you near each other. We didn’t, and it made unloading luggage a bit more challenging. The staff were incredibly friendly and handled a tricky situation with great care: someone in our group forgot their phone in the room, and we didn’t realize until we were in the next city. The team found it, arranged payment, and FedExed it to our home address without any hassle. Truly excellent service!
