A lovely, quiet cottage on a working farm
We stayed with a friend and her 4 year old - the folks running the farm were super friendly, and the 4 yo is still talking about how she misses Ben & Bob (the farm Collies). The cottage is on a working farm, and has been nicely restored, though it's clearly an old building, and I must have banged my head *every* time I went to load the fire in the kitchen!
It's a place with real character - the farm has cows, goats, chickens, and fish, and would be great for anyone with kids.
The wifi was great (and just as well, because as with much of the Lakes there's a dearth of mobile phone signal). Beds were comfy, loads of room in the (upstairs) living room for movies and games.
The bath is massive (which was good for me, as I love a lagoon bath!).
If there was one thing (and it was incredibly minor) - the building was very warm, especially in the room over the bath. In summer, you're likely to be opening windows to cool off.
All in all, we'd definitely go back. Thanks, everyone!
