A Place to Stay

We spent very little time at the house as we were in town to visit family who lived nearby. There was an extra heater in our bedroom in case it was needed. There was also a sound machine to help mask any noise from the nearby two-lane highway. We didn't hear much truck noise at all like another reviewer mentioned, and were were there on a Saturday night. The kitchen appeared to have up-to-date appliances and the bathroom has several shelves for placing items given that the pedestal sink didn't have much space at all for toiletries. I'd caution against those who have mobility issues staying here as the floor is uneven in spots. There was room for our dog to roam at bit in the yard, but I'd strongly encourage keeping any dogs on leash given the nearby road.

It lists that it will sleep 5. There is no way. My husband thought it was listed as 2 queen beds, but when I looked back at the listing, it is listed as 2 double beds. There is only a loveseat and another chair in the living room. Definitely does not sleep 5. It is also listed that there is a playground. Never saw one. Refrigerator went out and had to throw out all of our food. Was never offered any type of compensation. Truck and trailers passing through all hours of the night. Air conditioning is loud. Bathtub was clean, I think. But it was stained and looked bad.

Good place to stay! Got my daughter from Ames and enjoyed a nice visit with her. House had everything we needed, and we loved the bakery/bistro across the street for breakfast. Visited the Farmers Market, Botanical Gardens, and outlet stores in Des Moines.
