Although the location was excellent, the property itself was very basic. Sharing a bathroom/toilet with the rest of the floor not very nice. Did not help as temperature was 30deg, no air con or fans on offer. It was however very cheap, so you get what you pay for.

Die drei Leute, mit denen ich an der Rezeption gesprochen habe, waren super freundlich und sehr aufmerksam zu mir. Das Hotel und mein Zimmer waren sehr sauber und alles war sehr aufgeräumt. Ich würde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Minimal, But Updated and Clean Property

The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The rooms were updated and well-appointed. There is no lift so keep that in mind if you have a lot of luggage. Shared bathrooms were clean and we generally didn't have any problems having access to them (did have to go to a bathroom on a different floor once or twice). We would stay again.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and the bed was very comfortable. A nice and quiet place that was very charming in its style. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in the city.

A quaint old-fashioned hotel in a quiet back street very close to Koln Central Station, cathedral, and the old town. Breakfast buffet very plentiful, with mature staff making the stay pleasant.

Only 6 minutes walking distance from Cologne Central station, super comfortable bed (best nights' sleep I've had), good shower pressure, all in all would highly recommended. Would have been good to have kettle and tea making facilities in the room but there was a hot water dispenser in the reception (which I didn't use).

The hotel is in a handy location. There's on-street parking about an 8 minute walk away for €5 per day (if you're unable to reserve a free hotel spot, Clever Str is an almost straight walk to the hotel, only turning onto the hotel street). Central station and the cathedral are only a few minutes away also. Everything was clean, the breakfast was a decent, continental style selection (and a pain au chocolate for later) and the staff are helpful and can keep your room key behind the desk while you are out. The biggest grumble was having a shared bathroom - 1 or 2 per floor. It wasn't a huge deal, but if someone is using the toilet or showering, you have to go to other floors. But as a stop off and resting point, it was great. We were there to see the city, didn't need the hotel to have anything too special.

The hotel was very nice inside, and the staff was helpful and kind. There's no elevator, so be prepared to carry your bags up some stairs. The street outside got a little loud in the morning, but was not bad overnight. Convenient location right near the train station!
