This is a nice hotel close to everything. It is a short walk to the bus depot and ferry. It is close to the main street and Old Town. There are many restaurants in walking distance. The hotel is nice and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful but their English is limited. A typical breakfast comes with the room. The hotel will also store your luggage if you are taking a late bus or ferry.

Perfect for the one or two night trip to Colonia.

Nice place to stay near the ferry to Buenos Aires. Can walk anywhere for the main tourist needs--the historic area, restaurants, small shops, etc.

Great location next to bus station close to center

We decide to save money and also stay over night so we took the bus there. This is the closest hotel. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was good. They did advertise a car museum that was about 20 miles out of town. I asked the girl at the fest to call n see if they were open. She said of course they would be open but they weren’t. Needless to say right up the street on the main drag right by the bank is the sweetest backery Made with Love and it was delicious too. Owner was also super nice.

Pleasant stay at Hotel Ayres Colonia

The hotel is conveniently located very close to the port and bus station. The accommodation was basic, but comfortable. However, the rooms on the first floor have to absorb all the noise from the second floor. Perhaps the flooring on the second floor rooms can be improved with more padding. Additionally, the rooms facing the street can have better soundproofed windows. Room # 6 right behind the front desk can be noisier. Overall, it was a convenient stay for an overnight in Colonia.

Nice place, but with estrange bathroom noises.

Nice place, good and kind staff until the moment of paying. The Visa machine does´not work... so I have to pay in cash. I think this a trick they do in order to not receive the delayed paying from Visa.

Great hotel next to bus and ferry terminal!

I chose this place because it is only 1 block away from the bus station and ferry terminal. Super convenient. The hotel was clean and cozy. Room is a little bit small, but that's okay. There are no elevators so try not to pack too many things. Colonia is very small, so you can walk along the main street (Avenida Gral Flores) and find many restaurants and shops. The old town area is only about 10-15 minutes walk away. Room has AC.

Excellent location in Colonia

We stayed a day and a half in Colonia and found the Ayres Hotel to be perfect for our needs. Very close to the Bus and Ferry station we were able to walk the short distance to the hotel in 10 minutes. Located centrally we were easily able to walk into the old section of town to explore it's history, architecture, galleries and restaurants. Felt very safe walking back at night. Staff were very pleasant, the breakfast met our needs the hotel room was large enough to accomodate 2 travelling adults. Hotel is very clean and well maintained. Overall a very good experience. Thanks you!

right next to ferry port; pleasant

the location was the key since we had early morning ferry to catch; pleasant walk to the old town. staff seemed friendly. reasonable rates. rooms on small side, but nice. enjoyable.
