Great location and pet friendly
Posted Apr. 10, 2024 on HomeAwayThis unit is very conveniently located, just a short walk from the main road/shops in Cowes and to the beach. It is very well equipped - kitchen and dining supplies, board games, even a ball we found in the lounge for the dog and food/water bowls in the courtyard for the dog. A couple of small downsides - the instructions message received via Stayz says to bring linen etc but that towels are provided... towels are definately not and I had to go to Woolies to buy some (we would've brought them from home otherwise!). A regular deep cleaning could be good to make sure the place is really spic and span (free of dust in the bedrooms, bit of grot in the courtyard). However, overall, this is really very good accommodation taking into account location, dog friendliness and generally smooth booking, access and stay process.

3 night stay in Cowes

Island Time
Posted Mar. 10, 2024 on HomeAwayFive almost perfect days down at the Island. The unit is in a great location walking distance to great coffee at Waterboy and staggering home distance from the pub.
Unit is neat, clean and everything works.

Posted Feb. 22, 2024 on HomeAwayLovely little 2 bedroom unit being the front unit in a block of 4. Nice quiet location.
Although the unit has parking it is definitely for a small car only. We had to park across the road from the unit but this was definitely not a problem.
Unit could do with a dust and de-cobweb job.
You do need to take your own linen and coffee pods for the Lavazza coffee machine (word of warning - not the usual size coffee pod - definitely a slim line mini!)
All in all we would stay again.

dreadful experience
Posted Dec. 18, 2023 on HomeAwayLocked out of unit and contact person took two hours to rectify grudgingly. Towels paid for but not there and only one bed made up instead of two. The key lock which was broken, and had apparently been broken for some time according to neighbour who had helped previous people wanting access, a locksmith came and smashed the lock to the ground. The cleaner came next morning and made up the second bed and gave us threadbare towels to use. The person to contact was rude and completely incapable of understanding the predicament we were in arriving at 5pm from Brisbane tired and hungry and wanting to go to the toilet and having to wait for two hours for the key to be given to us. The lock in question only costs $20 from Bunnings and we were not the only people the neighbour had witnessed being locked out. One elderly woman on her own arrived late and couldn't get in and was in tears wondering what to do. Obviously this is unacceptable and we will certainly not be recommending anyone to this accommodation.

In all my time of having Chapel Beach House, I have never been verbally abused by guests.
The guests contacted me when they arrived at the property, and actions were then taken right away. Unfortunately the fastest time any locksmith could get there was close to 2 hours. The lock safe was working fine for past guests. The reference to a distressed guest was because they had locked themselves out by accident. I had arranged maintenance to attend within 15min, this guest was very greatful.
