Crater Lake Resort
3-star cabin near Fort Klamath Park and Museum
There's a snack bar/deli on site. Public spaces have free WiFi. Event space at this cabin measures 1200 square feet (111 square meters) and includes conference space. A library, a terrace, and barbecue grills are also featured at Crater Lake Resort. Limited free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Beautiful setting. Well maintained grounds but no chairs outside at our cabin. Cash only at the store was inconvenient since we weren't aware beforehand. Very nice staff and convenient to Crater Lake.
DO NOT STAY HERE if you care even a little bit about honesty or basic comfort. Look elsewhere.
â ïž FRAUDULENT LISTING
Every booking site said the room had two queen beds. What we got? One queen + a sofa bed.
Asked them right away â they admitted it was a âtranslation error.â So they knew it was wrong and just left it like that to get more bookings?
No staff at night (we got there at 9:30pm â their âafter hoursâ at a so-called 3-star resort?), and their âfeel free to leave and we'll refundâ message didnât even reach us until days later due to bad signal.
Is that something weâre supposed to negotiate after arrival? Like many other bad reviews mentioned â thereâs literally nowhere else to stay within 30 miles, and it was cold, dark, with poor signal.
We wouldnât have put ourselves in this situation if theyâd just been honest about what the room actually had.
â ïž HOT WATER? We WAITED nearly an hour.
After 2 people took normal showers (~15 minutes), hot water was gone.
We waited another 45 minutes â still cold.
Our friend had to go to bed sweaty and dirty after hiking all day. Old stains on the bedsheet made me wonder if they even cleaned it properly.
Next morning we brought it up, and they were just like: âItâs common knowledge how water tanks work.âIâve stayed at hundreds of places, and this is the first so-called â3-star resortâ where this even happens.
Again â they knew, but just didnât tell guests. But seriously â isnât it COMMON SENSE that if something like that aff
Beautiful area, further from Crater Lake than expected. Nice view of river off front deck. Not impressed with mower going around throwing gravel and dust as we were packing up our vehicle and tenters were eating breakfast and packing. Couple of hours before checkout so maybe could have done other areas first.
We had a wonderful stay. The room was super comfortable and super clean. The staff were very courteous and knowledgeable. Location for crater lake is the best. The only downside was the only food in the area was a âcasinoâ. I strongly recommend avoiding this place if you can.
Personally, not worth the money for the stay. Expected a bit more, lots of "extra" charges that I would have expected to be included for the price tag. Cabin was very clean, updated, and comfortable.
Itâs very basic . Nothing like a resort . Middle of nowhere. There is nothing much around . Had basic things provided . We stayed there to go to Crater lake . Next time we would prefer to stay in Bend , which has more options . If you plan to stay , bring groceries and food to cook . We went to Walmart to Kalmath Falls , which is the nearest city with some options.
Very quiet property. It was a peaceful and comfortable stay. The grounds are clean and the store has everything you need. Dinning is about 10 minutes away at the casino.
Lovely property. We were in the off season, so didnât interact with the staff. And we were on a mission to ski up to Crater Lake, so didnât spend much time on the grounds. But still saw eagles, ducks, and herons. Cell service is not great, so a place to relax and deconnect, not a place to be wired in all the time.
LOVE this place for its natural pristine qualities. The name âresortâ is a little misleading (no restaurant/pool/etc) but the super clean cabins, amazing stream, short trail, and canoes are worth the exchange! Also, itâs about 15 minutes to a half hour drive to get to the rim or a restaurant. I definitely recommend visiting this place but was admittedly surprised by the appearance when we drove up.
We stayed in the sleeps-6 cabin, small, cozy and cute. Good heating, jacuzzi was ready to go. Mostly everything was in order though one blind was not working (a thoughtful apology posted on the blind), and we had trouble convincing the oven to stay on, kept cutting off. Resort grounds are lovely, nice but short trail around with not so many neighbors in November, but we wish there were places walking distance to hike further. Store open 12-5 only which isnât convenient but you just need to stock up in Klamath falls and youâre good. Wi-Fi was god awful, no cell service so expect to be mostly off the grid unless your cabin is immediately next to the store where the Wi-Fi router is located.
Pros: Room was quiet, and check-in was easy. Thank you for the communication prior to check-in, and for leaving our room info on the bulletin board.
Cons: We woke up to a mouse crawling around the room, in the middle of the night. Being the middle of the woods, we understood that things happen.. let him outside and went back to sleep. The thing that was very inconvenient was that the light switch in the restroom would turn off after about 20-30 seconds of no movement. This made going to the restroom very difficult, as the switch was far away from the toilet. I sat in pitch darkness while I waited for my husband to come in and turn the light back on.
All in all, the place is good in a pinch, but Iâd look for something else if we go back to the area.
