Welcome to Sunset Sanctuary, a house designed to calm the mind and recharge the spirit! The wood stove fireplace is cozy, the sunsets are breathtaking and you may even see a whale! Gray Whales pass by during their migration and Pilot Whales live in the area year-round! The nearest beach access is just a block away. There is an access road that leads down to Preston Island. This is a rocky beach for the most part but there are sandy stretches for a pleasant walk with your pet (which we are happy to host!). Enjoy the majesty of the waves crashing against the nearby rocks and cliffs! The nearest swimming/surfing beach is Crescent Beach just about a 5-minute drive away! This house and location are wonderful. I could have sat on the patio and looked at the ocean the entire trip. It’s very dog friendly. Communication with the host was great. The master bedroom is on the main level so that was great for us. I really hope to go back.

Beautiful house in a great location right on the beach! Perfect for our friends getaway. The deck space is amazing and the glass walls keep the area warm and protected from the wind. Short walk down to beach, perfect sunset views, an all around great place to stay.

Stunning views both outside on the spacious deck, large picture window of the living room and in the upstairs bedrooms (one in particular). Home was easy to access, owner communication clear and ongoing from start to finish! Conveniently located in Crescent City and minutes to the Redwoods!We would definitely consider coming back for another stay!

We loved staying at Sunset Sanctuary. The home was well stocked with everything we could need from kitchen dishes, pots and pans to beach towels. There is an amazing coastal view from the back patio and also from the comfortable living room. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean and communication with the host was quick and easy. We couldn’t ask for anything more!

Easy check-in process and house had an incredible view of the beach and water! Kitchen had necessary basics for cooking if desired. Host graciously did not charge for the little ones accidentally staining placemats with tomato sauce at dinner. WiFi functioned without issues. The bedrooms had portable fans if needed and there were portable heaters available in the house as well. Would love to stay again one day!

Our family is STILL talking about how amazing this property was! The view is absolutely stunning! Inside was cute and functional, and CLEAN! It had everything we needed and located close to the beaches. We would definitely stay here again. The attached pictures were taken from the deck.

Beautiful place- love love the deck!!

We had a lovely stay at your place. The view is amazing, the rooms are quite large, and the home was perfect for our family. We had multi generations with us to celebrate my mother’s 75th birthday. We loved the back deck area and spent lots of time outside. The views from the upstairs bedrooms were also wonderful and we enjoyed a sunset from our room. The kitchen was quite cute and well stocked. There are just a few things to consider- only one restroom downstairs through the master bedroom. So when the babies went to sleep early we had to go up and down the stairs to the other bathroom. We definitely got our steps in and definitely not a deal breaker by any means. I also loved the idea of the doggy area, but my dog was able to get under the deck. So we couldn’t let him out there much, looks like someone has bought lattice I saw in the garage. Hopefully that will be an easy fix. All in all we had a great time and made some wonderful memories!!! We definitely hope we get to return very soon. Thank you!

Charming Beach House with Stunning Views!

We had such a wonderful stay at this beach house! The decor and furnishings were absolutely adorable—stylish, cozy, and full of charm. Every room felt thoughtfully designed, making it a joy to spend time indoors as well as out. The views were truly breathtaking—we loved waking up to the ocean right outside our window and watching sunsets from the deck. The whole space felt bright, airy, and incredibly comfortable, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Shawn was a fantastic host—responsive, helpful, and made sure everything was just right for our stay. We can’t wait to come back!

Pictures don’t do this place justice!

We came to Crescent City to visit the Redwoods and we feel so lucky to have been able to get a reservation at this amazing place. The decor is cheery and right up my alley. Every room has an incredible view! Waking up to the ocean was dreamy. After hiking all day in the redwoods it was so comforting to come back to this place and chill. This was such a cute little cottage-like beach house on the older side but very functional and beautiful. The view of the beach was amazing! We all were very happy with choosing this home over a hotel.

Little piece of oceanic heaven

Property is super easy to get to. Checking in and out is seamless and Shawn is super helpful to ensure it goes as such, too. Kitchen is well stocked. With everything the icing on the cake is the back patio. The views, the sounds, the peaceful nature of the ocean are amazing! Thank you Shawn for being an awesome host. A favorite for sure!
