The Space:

Welcome to Chateau Renard, or for most of us "The House of the Fox".  So aptly named for the beautiful red foxes in the neighborhood.  The owners have a favorite that visits in the evening and they`ve even named her Roxy. She seems to enjoy the sound of the waterfall in the summers and lays next to the soothing water in the sun.  



This 3,149 Square foot mountain home is sure to fit the bill for your next vacation.  Within walking distance to ski access in the winter, hiking in the summer, and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the fantastic Colorado weather, it`s no wonder even the foxes love Chateau Renard! Pull into the large driveway and park in the oversized garage.  Inside the home you enter into a custom mud room with antique barn wood cabinetry and spacious entry way to kick off the shoes and start relaxing.  On this level there are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms as well.  There is a junior master suite with King bed and in suite bath with dual vanities.  There are two other bedrooms which share a full bath just outside the in the hallway.  One guest bedroom has a queen bed while the other has a queen bed and twin single bunk.  



Take a walk up the grand staircase and open up into the great room with antique barn beams and spectacular views! This is the heart of the home with a fully stocked kitchen, large dining space with wraparound views, and the living area.  There`s plenty of comfy seating to gather around the wood burning fireplace and watch a movie on the big screen TV.  Off the living space is a powder bath and a bonus room with twin bed, TV, and play loft.  Behind the living room is the sumptuous master suite with King bed and sitting area with red leather chairs for that perfect cup of morning coffee while looking out at the mountains.  This room has vaulted ceilings with great wood beams for a spacious and relaxing feel.  There is a private deck off the master as well to take in our great Colorado weather.  The master bath has dual vanities, soaking tub, shower, and walk in closet if you decide to pack heavy! 



Back in the great room you can step out to large covered and open decks.  There is a dining set and gas grill for outdoor dining in any weather since it is covered.  The sun deck sits right next to the waterfall and in the summer months you can enjoy the peaceful sound of water as you let your cares slip away.  With so many places to relax, it will be hard to pick your favorite at Chateau Renard!



PS.  This home is right next door to Ruby Retreat if your group size is larger.

Great ski vacation home for large family!

Our family of 9 stayed here for a five day ski vacation. We had plenty of room. Place was well furnished. You cannot ski out of location but drop off point just off gold link lift is 2 minutes away. And you can ski home almost to the front door. Definitely need AWD/4WD in winter.

Beautiful house!

Great location off the gold link lift and beautiful property. The kitchen was very well equipped and was a great space for a larger group. The check in process was very easy however we did have to shovel extra upon our arrival to get our cars in the driveway (all with 4wd). One thing to note that we didn’t realize up front - the free shuttle that is walkable from the house stops running at 8 pm in the winter so arrange other rides if you plan to go into town later in the evening. Love this house and would highly recommend!

We're picky. We travel a lot. The photos of this home were beautiful, but when we arrived, we were pleased to discover that the home is even better than in the photos. Comfortable, well-stocked (even spices) and aesthetically pleasing. Views abound. Upscale everything. Beds were a dream. Plenty of space for everyone. The location was great. We would definitely stay here again.

Property was amazing - great for a family of 8 for a week getaway. All had so much fun. The only advice is for the property manager. Ran out of dish soap and dishwasher pods after only 2 days. Also almost ran out of toilet paper - think for all bathrooms had a couple rolls left at the end of our stay. This has never happened in any place we have stayed before. It was an easy fix - we bought our own and left with what was left since we were driving. If won't be supplied for full duration of trip, maybe just advertise better.

Need instructions for operating televisions. Could not get Roku to work in master B/R and left a message for help which was never returned. Coffee maker did not work properly but property manager replaced same day after calling them. Loved the house, views and great deck.

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting

The listing does not do this property justice - it is just beautiful and the arrangements of the house perfect for our family of 9. Also agree with other renters - the red foxes (we had two) were such a treat - not at all scared and came up on the porch throughout the day! There is a stop for public transportation nearby, but not really close so in the cold weather definitely recommend a car. The kitchen was very well stocked and meals for our family were easy in the space. We would definitely rent the property again, the views are amazing! I did need to contact the leasing office a couple of times, barely got up into the icy driveway and had to have them come out with sand so we could get into the garage. No screen on the fireplace which did not seem of concern to the management office although they did send someone out. The contact in the office seemed a little dismissive of our concerns, but the maintenance staff that came out could not have been nicer or more helpful. Overall a wonderful proerty and would definitely recommend.

Daughters wedding at the Mountain Wedding Garden

We loved this house and it was the perfect location. Our daughter was getting married at the Mountain Wedding Garden and we needed a house that was close by. This house was well put together and was the perfect place for us to gather during the week of the wedding. We loved the layout of the house and the house decor gave it a homey feel. This property by and large lived up to our expectations. Property was clean, spacious and well stocked. And the views can't be beat! My only issue is that the kitchen appliances were very worn out. Dishwasher door was difficult to close. The flame under the stove burners would sometimes go out. Having said all that, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

With amazing views, this spacious home met all our needs

My wife, two kids, and I traveled to Crested Butte from the Denver Metro Area with four of our closest friends. This house had incredible views that we soaked in through the big windows or on the porch. With five bedrooms, we had space to spread out, and the large owners suite left us plenty of room for our infant daughter's pack-n-play plus a spot to change and dress her. The bedrooms being spread across two floors provided a lot of privacy between our loud kids and the grown-ups sleeping in. On the night we arrived, a fox greeted us from the back porch, bringing delight to us all. Travelers should know that this house is in the ski resort part of town, not the downtown area, which requires a lovely bike or car ride to get to. They should also know that the kitchen is fully stocked with all kinds of cookware, so much so that it can be hard to find a place to store the food you picked up at the grocery store. All in all, this was a great spot for us in a beautiful part of Colorado.

Great all Around

With a group of 8 for our annual ski trip, the house was perfect. It was less than a 5min walk to a mid mtn run, so didn't have to worry about parking or lines at the base to start the day. The house its self was beautiful and spacious. Plenty of room for us to spread out. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook dinners. Heated floors and garage make it even more comfortable.

Great family vacay!

This was a beautiful destination for our family of 10 with amazing views and an incredible home. The master suite was for our 83 year old mother/grandmother so that she wouldn’t have to climb the stairs except when necessary. We did bring a baby gate for the top of the stairs to keep the toddler safe. Roxie the fox made daily appearances and the kids loved sledding down the hill next to the house. This home was chosen for the size and also for the rustic exterior and interior which gives it a “homey” feeling. The property management was great to work with. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Getaway

This is an amazing home. The views are stunning, the location is perfect and the management company (Iron Horse) is wonderful. The home is big and spacious yet cozy. We loved having family game nights and playing in the snow in the front lawn. Could not have asked for a better home for our trip.
