➔ Sleeping: A king bed in its own separate sleeping area, plus a queen pull-out couch in the living room — four sleep comfortably.

➔ Living & View: A bright living area with a window framing Mt. Crested Butte.

➔ Building Amenities: Indoor and outdoor heated pools and a hot tub open 365 days, plus a gym, steam room, elevator, and a lobby with a fireplace.

3 Pros:
✔ A 3-minute walk to the Mt. Crested Butte lifts, with a real mountain view
✔ Indoor and outdoor heated pools and a hot tub open year-round
✔ A full kitchenette and a king bed in a separate sleeping area
2 Cons:
✗ A studio-style suite — open and efficient, not built for large groups
✗ A 3-star building (1999) with HOA-run amenities that can close without notice; no A/C (rarely needed at 9,375 ft) and no in-unit washer/dryer
Please Note: We do utilize a weblink outside the platform that directs guests to our guidebook. You will receive an email with this link. This is the ONLY way guests can access check-in information, and facilitates the collection of pet fees and other special requests/upgraded services we offer.
Guest Access:
You have the entire suite to yourself, reached by elevator on the 4th floor, plus full access to the Grand Lodge's shared amenities: the indoor and outdoor heated pools, hot tub, gym, steam room, and fireplace lobby. Check in yourself anytime with your keypad code — there's no front desk at the Grand Lodge, but we respond quickly by message. Your unit comes with one free parking pass and EV charging. The shared amenities are operated by the building's HOA and can occasionally close for maintenance, which is outside our control.
The Neighborhood:
You're at the base of Mt. Crested Butte — about 100 yards and a 3-minute walk to the lifts, with shops and dining right at the Red Lady base and the free town shuttle stopping steps away. Trails leave from the base in summer, and a convenience store and coffee are close by. Historic downtown Crested Butte and its Elk Avenue — galleries, restaurants, and Old West storefronts — are about a 6-minute drive or a free shuttle ride. Summer means hiking, biking, and wildflowers; winter is ski-base convenience.
Getting Around:
You don't need a car here — the lifts, shops, dining, and a convenience store are all within a short walk, and the free town shuttle stops steps from the door (about every 15 minutes to historic downtown Crested Butte, roughly 6 minutes away). If you do drive, your unit comes with one free parking pass and EV charging on site. The Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is about a 40-minute drive; Denver is roughly 4.5 hours. Ski and bike storage is available at the base with our partner Butte & Co.
Other Things to Note:
- License 304074.
- CO and smoke alarms and a fire extinguisher are installed.
- Check-in after 4:00 PM / checkout before 10:00 AM, keypad self check-in.
- Sleeps 4: 1 king bed in a separate sleeping area + 1 queen pull-out couch.
- 4th-floor unit reached by elevator.
- NOT pet friendly — only the 1st and 2nd floors of the Grand Lodge allow pets.
- No A/C (rarely needed at 9,375 ft) and no in-unit washer/dryer. Kitchenette has a stove, dishwasher, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and toaster.
- We don't provide daily housekeeping or linen service mid-stay (this is a vacation rental, not a hotel).
- Pools, hot tub, gym, and steam room are run by the building's HOA and can close for maintenance without notice.
- The Grand Lodge is a 3-star building (built 1999) with dated common areas.
Interaction with Guests:
Check-in is self-serve with your keypad code, so you can arrive on your own schedule — there's no front desk at the Grand Lodge. We're a message away before and during your stay and reply quickly, and our virtual concierge can help with local recommendations and trip planning. Ski or bike storage, an airport-shuttle tip, or a dinner reservation? Just ask. Ski and bike storage is available right at the base with our partner Butte & Co.
