Whooper is located on the Portnellan Estate and offers tasteful 4 star self catering accommodation sleeping up to 4 people within 2 bedrooms, bathroom and open plan living, dining and kitchen area.
Situated in the heart of the central Highlands of Scotland with spectacular loch, glen and mountain views all around Whooper's setting is magnificent where a true highland landscape awaits you and it is often complimented on the abundance of bird and wild life that can be regularly seen. It is not unusual to see the deer meandering off the hill and passing nearby the property.
Whooper comprises of 2 bedrooms and has recently been refurbished to include a new fully tiled bathroom with full size bath, power shower and heated floor. All new wood affect flooring, low energy mineral filled electric heating system, curtains and low energy lighting. The bedroom configuration is a king sized double and 1 twin bedroom. A fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons and open plan living and dining. Step from this area through a sliding patio door onto a private South facing balcony with garden furniture and a spectacular unrestricted view of the iconic mountain Ben More. The chalet is equipped with a LCD TV with Freesat, Blu Ray DVD, Wi-Fi is available as well as BBQ hire. There is even an onsite visitor centre with a small essentials shop, fresh organic meat from a farm locally for sale (perfect for a BBQ or home cooking), local information, a varied selection of board games and DVDs.
The Portnellan Estate has beenââ privately owned by the same family for ânearly 40â years and offers fantastic facilitiesâ âincluding fresh run wild salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river, mountain bikes with plenty of trails on and off road for all abilities, a games room with table tennis, table football, pool table and a small gym. Canadian canoes, kayaks âand rowing boats are free to use on the river and lochâ. Clay pigeon shooting can also be arranged.â
Portnellan Estate is the perfect base for exploring Central/West Scotland with known landmarks only a short distance away. Oban 45 minâuteâs, Stirling, Fort William and Glasgow just over 1 hour and Edinburgh a 90 min drive. Glen Coe and all it beholds is less than 40 mins drive and the bonnie shores of Loch Lomond are 20 mins by car. Other areas include the truly beautiful Glen Lyon and Loch Tay, Glen Etive, Glen Lochay and Glen Orchy all within the local area.
