We have just had a lovely week at The Roost.
We have just had a lovely week at The Roost. Home from home and so welcoming. Met Neil the owner who was really friendly and full of information about stuff we can do. Had a fire lit for when we walked in and makings for tea and biscuits and other bits too. The bed was very comfortable and we slept like logs. Plenty of lovely walks for us and our two dogs and a lovely friendly pub just a short walk away. Lovely walk along beach to Cromer. There you can get a train to Sheringham. We will be back to enjoy warmer weather. All we thought could be added was a splatter guard for cooking to protect the tiles so that’s a minor thing in my opinion

We really enjoyed our week away staying in this quaint flint cottage.
We really enjoyed our week away staying in this quaint flint cottage. The weather was good for February. The cottage is equiped with all you need for a comfortable stay. Despite an earlier review about the cottage being cold we were happy with the electric heating morning and evening with the log burner between these times. The owners were lovely and there if you needed them. Great enclosed garden for dogs. Pub just down the road but no footpath or lighting and so we didn't walk to it due to the time of year. About 3 mile walk into Cromer via Overstrand and then the beach. Wouldn't hesitate to stay at The Roost again when in the area.

This is a lovely cottage.
This is a lovely cottage. It is spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Bed was comfy. Garden was safely enclosed so ideal for dog owners. Welcome back was a nice touch.Heating by the log burner was fantastic but if you don’t want to light it, the electric radiators are not on during the day so it gets cold very quickly. (We visited in late December.). That said there was plenty of logs. The only problem is the situation. Access is via a network of very narrow country lanes and if you are not a confident driver, this could be worrying. We drive an SUV and the parking space at the cottage is very difficult to access and park and due to the narrow access road, you cannot park on the road.
