Walk to Monarch Beach (Salt Creek Beach) along a secluded pathway with no traffic along the golf course until you reach the isolated Salt Creek Beach. You will feel like you have this picturesque beach almost to yourself. The walk to the beach is about one mile and takes 20 minutes.

Located adjacent to Waldorf Astoria (St. Regis) Monarch Bay. Two other five-star resorts, The Ritz Carlton (1 mile) and Montage (4 miles) in Laguna Beach are nearby.

In the beautiful upscale Dana Point/Monarch Beach area of Orange County. Dana Point is located on Pacific Coast Highway midway between Los Angeles and San Diego. Disneyland 31 miles, San Diego and Sea World 60 miles, Los Angeles 55 miles. You are only minutes from some of the best dining, shopping, beaches, golf and tennis in Southern California.

This is a gated community and includes your own parking space. There are short stairs to climb when entering this top level 1,150 square-foot single-story Air Conditioned condo. This relaxing and tastefully decorated condominium is perfect for two couples or a family looking for a beach retreat.

Walk into the spacious living room, fully equipped with a 42-inch TV and DVD player. Each of the two bedrooms is also equipped with flat-screen TVs and DVD players. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in the separate dining room, or use the bar-b-q grill and relax at the patio table on the balcony.

The kitchen is fully-equipped with dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker and all your cooking needs. The master bedroom has a king size bed and TV with your own private bathroom. The second room has two (2) queen beds and flat screen TV. The condo also has its own laundry room with washer and dryer.

The place was very well equipped. But it was rather sad looking and could use some sprucing up. Too many throw rugs as potential trip hazards. The sheets were super worn and appeared very old . I thought it had a slight smell of old cigarettes which I’m very sensitive to. But at least you could walk to many places so the location was good

Needs work - Not ready for prime time

It felt like almost everything in the condo was held together with "chewing gum or duct tape" or didn't quite work the way it should. This includes:*Peeling floor in the master bathroom*Peeling paint in the guest bathroom*Bar height table in the kitchen with 4 stools. But 2 of the stools were counter height, making me feel like I was 8 years old if I sat at them*No overhead lighting - the condo was very dark*Lighting provided by floor lamps, but almost all of the electrical outlets were loose which meant that the lamps had to plugged in "just right" to work. *Pillows were dirty*Rugs covering holes in the floor and bare spots in the floor-to-floor carpets*One toilet was very temperantal and required two visits by a plumber. The other toilet worked just fine.*One time the dishwasher started even though it wasn't locked closed*The kitchen sink faucet was stuck in one position - difficult to use with a divided sink.It does have a great location with easy access (walking or by car) to Monarch Beach.

Great value and location

The lower hot tub (shown in the property pictures) was the star of the stay! The peace and quiet and view of the ocean are worth the visit. Great location and Jason was very nice, accommodating, and responded promptly. The condo is well stocked with all the beach gear and kitchen equipment that you need.

Loved Salt Creek Beach

This condo is kind of 'dated' but it is comfy, cosy and spacious and just a 20 minute walk down to the beach. Has a nice deck. San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano and Laguna Beach are just minutes away by car. The condo is quiet - didn't hear our neighbors.

Good for the price

I gave it 5 stars because the owner was very quick to respond to one issue, also since this place was a bit more affordable than others, some quirks were to be expected. The main cons are road noise, fully carpeted, and the walk to the beach isn't as short as I had hoped. It's more for scenery and exercise. If you want to go to the beach and being chairs, etc, you should drive. Was a good stay overall.

Cannot fault the property or location

The property was the best equipped that we have stayed in. It had all the kitchen equipment we would need, including a kettle for an English cup of tea! There were beach towels, cool box, beach chairs, board games - everything. The location is beautiful. The walk to the beach through the golf course is really pretty and the beach cafe was great. It was a short drive to the theme parks and if you fancy something a little different then I can highly recommend Caspars Wilderness park a short drive away. It had a range of trails and excellent nature centre, which entertained the kids, plus a play park.

Great location

Property was as described in listing. The location was great. From the condo you can walk to a small market and deli, brewery and a couple of really good restaurants. I went for a job from the condo along bike path that leads right to Salt Creek beach. The property was very clean. I liked the patio. Close to everything in Dana Point and short drive to Laguna Beach. I felt this place has great value for the money. I will definitely stay again when returning to visit family.

A month in Dana Point

The location is great. The host is responsive. The kitchen, bathroom and beach supplies are well stocked. It is 10 minutes to the harbor where there are great restaurants and walking paths. The walk to the beach is beautiful but it an uphill climb coming home. Loved the pool and fitness room. Gave the condo a 4 out of 5 overall because it needs a little TLC.

So Cal stay in Monarch Hills

We had a great time visiting Dana Point California and wanted to stay in the same complex that my brother lives in. I looked at MANY 2 bedroom units and ultimately went with this unit due to how well it was appointed: King in master, 2 Queens in secondary bedroom, large table and chairs, plenty of seating in living room, TV’s in every room, a kitchen with all kinds of essentials to prepare and eat meals, and also the beach chairs/towels were nice to utilize. The price per night was good for our family and the community was very friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for family trip!

Reservation process was easy. Welcome email with instructions from the host was very clear and helpful! Condo was clean and welcoming upon arrival. Host provided plenty of supplies and extras like beach chairs, toys and beach towels for us to use which was great! The space could use some minor fixes as all homes do over time. The fixes would improve overall guest experience but we had a great stay and hope to be able to stay here again in the future!
