Vipers Quay, boat house on the River Dart

Vipers Quay is an outstanding family holiday property with an unique location on the River Dart, near Dittisham in the South Hams.

Perfect for families and groups of friends, the property occupies a unique river front location with wide ranging views across the river. The boat house was designed for sailing and provides unparalleled access to the river. Ideal for multi-family groups with a large principal open plan kitchen, dining room and living area that lends itself to family and friend get togethers.

Vipers Quay is a wonderfully located 1960’s boat house, sleeping up to 12 guests. The spectacular living room is the focal point, with fantastic views over the River Dart and across to Greenway (Agatha Christie’s home) and the village of Dittisham. The huge room is open and spacious, with plenty of comfortable armchairs and sofas where you can relax and enjoy the changing light over the water. There is an open fire at one end of the room, with logs available for winter visitors. At the other end the dining table comfortably seats 12 guests.

Outside there is a garden running alongside the water, leading to a woodland area, with a BBQ and two picnic tables where you can eat out in the summer. A spiral staircase leads up to a sundeck on the large flat roof with panoramic views out over the river where you can catch some rays while watching the boats go by. In front of the house, the private jetty can be used for crabbing, swimming or to launch a canoe or paddle board.

There is ample parking and the house is all on one level, meaning it is suitable for wheelchair users (see access statement). Pets are welcome.



Vipers Quay is on the river Dart downstream from the village of Dittisham - 5 mins by boat (and 20' from Dartmouth) - which has a shop, pubs, café and church.



Located at the end of a private road, there is adequate parking for visitors. Vipers Quay offers immediate access to the River Dart from a private jetty. The village of Dittisham is only a short walk away, with a small church and several pubs, a post office and village shop.

Vipers Quay is the perfect opportunity to get away from it all whilst still being within easy reach of South Devon's most popular attractions.  Guests can use the whole house, including the two jetties and the roof.

Sleeping arrangements are flexible. There are five bedrooms comprising: a principal en-suite bedroom with a super king size bed; a second en-suite bedroom, which can be set up as a twin or double; two further bedrooms which can be set up as twins or doubles; and a bunk room with 2 bunk beds i.e. 4 single beds .  There are a two further bathrooms.
