Although short staffed during my stay, The staff is amazing!! The lobby was full due to Daytona race and reservations were coming in left and right. The team kept their composure and handled the situation very well. The gentleman at the front desk worked very well with the manager, she was even cleaning rooms to accommodate newcomers. Great teamwork with God sent employees. I will be returning for sure

This is a no frills stay. Perfect for a few affordable days at the beach. The owners are trying. Room was clean, beds comfortable just old and visible water damage. Need extra blankets. Basically only have 2 sheets. We loved parking right outside of our room, access to beach and quiet stay. We did not use the pools but they looked clean and areas around were nice. Place is just old. If I came back with my kids in the summer I may stay here again.

The pictures of the property on the website must be 20 years old. It is in desperate need of a facelift. the enclosure over the indoor pool has a couple of large holes (3-4 feet) on the roof as the building crumbles.The room was clean but had an odor. We had to leave the balcony door during our stay. It is out of season so there were plenty of rooms available. They put us next to a rooms under going major construction. We were awaken in the morning by the hammering, drilling and voices of the construction crew. in the evening there we people hanging around in the entry ways, After three days we decided to leave early. We asked for a refund of our final day and was told we would have to take that up with Expedia.

Completely unacceptable stay due to undisclosed construction noise We checked in at 5:00 AM specifically to rest. At 9:00 AM, extremely loud construction noise started and continued until 4:00 PM on Saturday, making it impossible to sleep or remain in the room. When we contacted the front desk, the only response was an apology. We were told that nothing could be done and that the construction company supposedly arrived without prior notice. This is not an acceptable explanation for guests who paid for a stay expecting basic comfort. The construction was not disclosed prior to booking, which is a serious failure and materially affected our stay. Expedia also attempted to contact the property by phone and was unable to reach them. The lack of transparency, accountability, and any attempt to resolve the situation made this stay a complete waste. We strongly do not recommend this property.

I searched for a hotel with a hot tub and the indoor pool was the thing that made me decide on choosing Sun Viking Resort and well as upgrading to a room with a balcony and garden view. The property is repairing balconies causing the indoor pool closure. Had I known in advance I would not have booked here and definitely would not have booked a garden view which was of the indoor pool area. The hot tub, which was my original draw wax not hot and the he jets were not very strong. My last complaint is that we booked for 6 people which consisted of two queen beds and a queen sofa bed. When we pulled out the sofa bed we discovered no bedding. The office provided sheets and a blanket but had no pillows and said there was nothing they could do since housekeeping was gone. With all that being said, we enjoyed our stay and I would be inclined to go back once the repairs are done. It is a great location and both pool areas are beautiful and well kept. I hope the next repair or upkeep is to the hot tub.

No good. Took my wife and newborn there for short 3 day vacation after Christmas. I checked out within 2 hours and went to Daytona grande down the street. The Viking lodge is dirty, damage everywhere in room and pool area. Most importantly the people that live in the hotel are a little rough with many unattended children EVERYWHERE.

The fridge in the first room wasn't working, so my wife took in the keys to get another room while I repacked our things. She was told that was "the only time we would swap rooms." So I didn't even bother mentioning the other minor/bearable issues with the second room. But in the end we just left the hotel a day early, even knowing that I was losing my money.
