Old facility. Charming but shows its age. No road signage or lights at the entrance driveway leading to the hotel. (Opera House building is separate and road in front of it was blocked off.) Very hard to find the hotel at night if the hotel’s exterior lights are off. (I called for directions but the call was not answered. Desk manager had forgotten to turn the lights on and was away from desk for quite awhile giving tour of the Opera House.) I eventually found the entrance and when the check-in person finally arrived she was delightful. Interior pleasant with interesting memorabilia but dated. Plumbing is old and there are multiple notices to treat it carefully. Appreciated the communal fridge and microwave by the ice machine. Excellent tea bar. Best access to Death Valley, which makes it worth the inconveniences.
