One of the nicest studios around and less than 3/4 mile to the beach!
Beautiful, spacious, comfortable 500 s.f. detached studio with private 600 s.f. outdoor deck with ocean, lagoon, and nature reserve views. Property is walking distance to beach, the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, and a variety of great restaurants. Downtown Del Mar, with its wonderful beach-front restaurants, charming shops, L'Auberge Hotel, Del Mar Plaza, scenic Seagrove and Powerhouse Parks, beaches and nearby Del Mar Racetrack, is approximately 3 miles away.
This custom designed studio features a spacious outdoor roof deck with magnificent views of the ocean, lagoon and nature reserve, and is the perfect location to watch the sunset, bird watch, or just chill with a good book under the covered lounging area.
The interior is well designed and nicely furnished and decorated with tasteful art, and luxurious bedding. Kitchen contains a two-burner stove, refrigerator, convection oven, toaster, microwave, cooking utensils and nice assortment of pots and pans. High-definition programming is available for viewing on a 40' flat screen tv. Wireless internet access is available on site.
This is an exceptional piece of property located in a fantastic area at the end of a quiet street next to the Nature Reserve.
Not suitable for children ages 2-12. Note: security doorbell and garage camera in use on property.

Great studio in a great location!

The studio was as described, and the area is great. You can walk to restaurants and to the beach. Adam was very helplful with everything. I highly recommend, will come here again!

If I could, I would rate this VRBO with 6 stars. The property is built into a south facing steep hillside which creates an opportunity for an efficiency apartment that sets below a two car garage. What an apartment! It's beautiful. An architectual gem. It's quiet--almost silent. There's excellent air circulation from the HVAC system. The owners and a back-up caretaker live on site. (Delightful people.) It's in an affluent neighborhood of beautiful homes, including this one. The bathroom and shower are similar to what one might find in a high end hotel. With all that said, the best feature of the property is the private two-tiered roof top patio that functions as an outdoor living room with incredible views the Torrie Pines Nature Preserve. It's where we spent most of our waking hours.

Serene Setting

We very much enjoyed our stay in the unit under Adam's garage. The patio is lovely and the upstairs/outdoors area has a beautiful view and ambience. The kitchen is more a "kitchenette" as opposed to a kitchen, although both terms were used in the listing. We hardly went into San Diego proper at all because there are so many great hikes and birding opportunities in the Del Mar region.

Amazing location!

Amazing location with everything within walking or running distance! The beach is exactly one mile away, Torrey Pines hiking trails about 1.5 miles, and the Torrey Pines Extension trails just half a mile away - with beautiful sunset vistas. Plus, Starbucks is 1.5 miles away. Enjoyed stunning sunsets on the beach and plenty of hiking. Shopping and great eats in Del Mar just.a short few mile car trip away. Beautiful accommodations in a great spot!

Das Apartment war sehr sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und enthielt alle Dinge, die man fĂŒr den Urlaub benötigt. Adam, der Gastgeber, hat bei der Ankunft alles fĂŒr uns vorbereitet. Der Zugang war so einfach möglich. Ein Parkplatz war immer vorhanden. Da das Wetter wĂ€hrend unseres Aufenthalts nicht immer sonnig war, konnten wir die Terrasse nicht oft nutzen. Quiet and Comfortable

There are so many positive aspects of this VRBO hideaway. The home is very comfortable with everything you need to make your stay complete, including a simple kitchen, very comfortable mattress and a large shower. It is beautifully decorated with both an overhead fan and wall-mounted air conditioning. Around the corner from the unit is an incredible view of the Del Mar estuary and a partial view of Torrey Pines beach from an elevated patio with a fire pit and comfortable seating. Lastly, the host (Adam) is easy to reach and is quick to respond to all questions. We had an awesome time there.

We loved it. Very convenient to Surf Park for soccer/ultimate frisbee events. Very nicely appointed— good A/c, appliances, shower, TV etc. We didn’t use laundry but nice to have. Would have been nice to have extra set of towels as they didn’t dry out overnight and we needed to use the same ones for 4 days. But that’s a small thing. Will stay again!

Perfect Stay On The Reserve

My wife and I stayed in the guest studio while visiting Del Mar for a week. The location was perfect for everything outdoors! Bird Rock Coffee, Roberto’s and a few other bar/restaurants are all in close walking distance, but the major bonus was having Torrey Pines just a short walk away. We took full advantage of the quiet, and peaceful outdoor space that made us feel miles away from the bustle, all while remaining conveniently located near the freeway to explore all that San Diego has to offer!

A Perfect Place for a Vacation

Adam Gevanthor was a great host. Adam was available if we needed anything. The studio is adorable and just perfect for us. It is well furnished and tastefully decorated. It also includes bedding, bath and kitchen towels, kitchen and bathroom supplies and cookware and a washer and dryer in the garage. Most convenient. It is a great location. We walked to the beach (Torrey Pines State Beach and Del Mar South Beach). Adam told us about a loop to walk in his neighborhood (check out the architecture), which we walked several times and the last time, we watched the sunset. It was beautiful. The studio location was a five-minute drive to Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, which we visited three times. Our favorite hike was the Guy Fleming Trail. The views are breathtaking. We also hiked the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve Extension (MAR Scenic Trail and overlook). It was an enjoyable hike. We took public transportation to Petco Park to watch the Padres. We visited Birch Aquarium, Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo and the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad. We also visited San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas (which Adam recommended to us). A twenty minute or less drive to each of these places. We ate at Oggi's, Jake's, The Grill at Torrey Pines and Handel's Ice Cream. We so enjoyed our conversations with Adam and also pet his dog Slate (a beautiful husky). We spent two weeks at the studio in July 2023 and had the best vacation. Thank you Adam and Slate!

Very comfortable, small, well located property

The location is very convenient. We are walkers and from this property were able to walk to the beach, along the beach to Del Mar and then back to the property on along Hwy 101. It was also a very short drive to the Torrey Pines Reserve. From the parking lot we walked/hiked up the hill, experienced most of the trails and beautiful views. From there we walked the trails down to the beach and then back to the parking lot. The unit itself is very small, but for the two of us it was fine. The king bed is very comfortable. The kitchen is a little sparse, but functional. The dedicated upstairs patio was a bonus.

Perfect for a romantic getaway

Just enough space for two! Kitchenette had all you needed for small meals and beverages. We opted to cook breakfast and make our own coffee, all other meals were out (Jake’s in Del Mar was fantastic). The neighborhood is very cool and it was fun just driving around checking out all the interesting architecture. It’s a very quiet area. Location was really convenient, close to freeway to get to other areas. You can walk to a few restaurants, coffee shop and a liquor/convenience store. Parking was easy. Host Adam was very responsive but didn’t need to contact much as the property was well appointed. We absolutely plan to return.
