The recently remodeled Tyrolean Lodge is a classic, comfy cabin with an Austrian aesthetic, centrally located in the Wondervu area of Golden, in Boulder County. With easy access to SH-74, this rental is a short drive to Eldora Ski Mountain and easy access to Nederland, Blackhawk, Boulder, downtown Golden, and Denver. This cabin will take you back in time to the days of the gold rush but will offer you all the relaxing comfortable modern amenities.


You will love this 2-bedroom cabin, with centerpiece woodstove beautifully tiled bathroom, open kitchen format that is fully equipped, making meal preparation easy. There is a new hot tub and two smart TVs for when you’re ready to sit back and relax “at home”. There is very strong WiFi in this home. You will not have any issue hosting a Zoom call, if necessary.


You will be within walking distance to the Eldora Café and easy proximity to some of the best outdoor activities Boulder, Jefferson, and Gilpin Counties offer, like hiking, biking, mountain climbing, and winter sports.


This is your chance to unplug and reconnect with nature and your loved ones. This rental is one of four cabins... so while remote, you`re not completely off the grid.


Tyrolean Lodge is professionally cleaned using natural, eco-friendly cleaning products between each guest’s stay.


Staying in Wintertime? While the property is on a School Bus Route / County-maintained and plowed roadway, it is required to have a 4WD vehicle during winter.


INTERESTING FACTs: Wondervu is a settlement that was developed in the late 1920s-1930s by the Denver lawyer Otto Friedrich as a vacation community for the working class. The current population of Wondervu is approximately 2600 people. Elevation is 8632 above sea level.

Cancellation Policy: Any cancellation within 30 days of checkin will forfeit the amount of the reservation. Any cancellation prior to the 30 day check will receive 100% refund less $100 cancelation fee.

Cute cabin in the mountains. Beds were all very comfortable, even the bunks. We did catch a few ubers to Boulder and back for a concert, which was difficult if not doing a scheduled uber, just fyi. Area was quiet and peaceful. No complaints!

Perfect little cabin in the woods

This perfect little cabin was everything we needed for a long weekend. From a smooth check-in, attentive property manager, clean cabin, great location, cozy hot tub, and peaceful surroundings, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. There are plenty of hikes close by, spotting of wildlife like foxes and deer, stargazing off the back patio, and a cozy fireplace. The coffee shop & restaurant down the way were great alternatives but the kitchen in the cabin is well equipped for staying in and making meals. All in all this is a great place and we give it a 10/10! We will happily return for future peaceful retreats.

This is not the place

I would give this property zero stars if I could. The host, canceled our reservation at 10:30 pm while we were stranded in the middle of the mountains. Not only was this incredibly unprofessional, but his complete lack of concern for our safety and well-being was appalling. When we reached out for help, he was callous and rude, showing zero empathy or urgency to resolve the situation. It’s clear that he cares little about his guests' experiences and well-being. I would not recommend staying here under any circumstances. If you value your safety and peace of mind, look elsewhere

Solo time

This was a wonderfully, hidden quaint getaway. Little hard to find initially, but was a great spot. Close to “civilization” if choose, but the smaller venues were close and the trails etc., also plenty of options. The cabin is perfect for curling up a good book, coffee or wine and enjoying the scenery. Will be back soon. Thanks Brian!

Rustic cabin in mountain setting

This cabin offered the perfect getaway to the mountains. We were close enuf to Boulder and Golden for shopping and restaurants and then able to retreat to the serenity of the mountain. Very comfy and cozy with a great hot tub.

A Terrific Stay!

We had a terrific stay at the Tyrolean Lodge for a long weekend getaway. The property was clean and very comfortable. There are some neighbors nearby but it was fairly private. The interior is beautiful and thoughtfully designed with modern washer/dryer and range. We enjoyed the hot tub one evening when it cooled down (we were there in late summer). While we were there we saw hummingbirds, a fox, and deer on the hillside. The driveway is a little bit dicey for low-clearance vehicles: our rental car company ran out of our reserved SUV and gave us a sedan instead, so we had to dodge some of the bigger rocky outcrops to keep from bottoming out. However other than that we had no problems with the driveway. Note: if you're picking up supplies on the way in from Denver or elsewhere, the coffee station is a Keurig (so don't buy a bag of ground beans). We loved the cabin, and would recommend it to anyone!

Charming little cabin!

Charming little cabin with a breathtaking view from master bedroom, about 30 minutes from downtown Golden and 1 hr from Denver airport. Clean, well stocked, very comfortable. Loved the bathroom and the hot tub! Could use some firmer pillows though. The only downside of this property is it is quite difficult to get up and down to the cabin from the main road. Dirt road with lots of rocks and holes, so be sure you have a SUV or you will not make it up. Also it is a steep climb with luggage to get into the cabin so just be prepared for that.

Great little cabin

Perfect cabin for the mountain experience! The house is equipped with everything you need and we really enjoyed the stove and hot tub. Area was nice and secluded, saw plenty of deer. Cell service was spotty but WiFi worked great. Would highly recommend!

Amazing property!!

Our stay for a couple of days was delightful. The place was just as promised. The king size bed was nice and firm and delightful to sleep in. The window treatments in the bedroom were a nice unique touch. The main room was quite “homey” and the appliances were new and all working well. The walk-in shower was a pleasant surprise (missed it in the pictures from the website.) Needed to call Bryan once, and he returned my call within minutes. Overall, a very satisfactory experience. We would stay there again.

The home was fairly easy to find- the red barn helped. We loved the views! The lodge was just as expected but honestly even better in person. Very clean and cozy. We had our 6 month old daughter with us and she got to experience her first snow there. We made a ton of memories. Thank you! We’ve already recommended your place to family and friends.
