I loved the Dorset Hotel, it had everything you could want, a great food and drink menu (I can highly recommend their whisky selection!) immaculate clean bedrooms, smoking hot water and friendly knowledgeable staff. I was immediately made to feel welcome, and, as a solo traveller, to feel like one of the gang. Being in Derby itâs in a perfect location to access all manner of interests and activities both on the doorstep and further afield. Would have loved to have extended my stay here were it not for having to move on up country.
An overnight trip to Derby so we could experience the floating sauna. The hotel is room only with shared bathrooms. Everything is spotless. Staff were very friendly. Dinner was great and the continental breakfast supplied is beyond usual expectations. They have a laundromat on site and a bike shed for those who ride.
Cute little town
It was so peaceful and I could sleep with the window open and get lovely fresh air (I live on a farm). The beds were clean and comfortable and I actually found that unisex bathrooms can work admirably, even when the Hotel was fully occupied.
The staff were nice & friendly. The meals we had for dinner were delicious & generous portions. The actual room we stayed in was very basic & overpriced. There was no television & when I enquired if any rooms had televisions I was told no. We took the doona off the bed as it had no cover & it was stained.
