The hotel was built in the 1950's, and was recently remodeled. The lobby is very nicely decorated. There is a creek by the property. Breakfast was edible, not great. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were very dark, damp, and the only window didn't open. Towels never dried and sheets felt damp. Very poor lighting. No closets. Could hardly hear the TV with volume at maximum. Sheets were never changed the whole week we were there, but we did get fresh towels and garbage was collected from the rooms every other day as requested. Nice fire pits. Beautiful area. Close to everything but still quiet.

We enjoyed the lodge SO much! Our rooms were clean and organized. We loved the pool and the hot tub was amazing! We walked to Chili’s which was in the same parking lot. Breakfast was delicious! It was such a woodsy decorative experience, we would stay here again!

We stayed here for my son’s baseball tournament over the weekend. The lodge was amazing, very clean and all staff were so nice and efficient. The pool was clean, and the kids loved it. Breakfast in the morning was great, with many options. Overall would stay here again when in the Des Moines area.

Great place to stay near Des Moines

A very nice hotel in a great location in north western Des Moines. Large room, nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed. All employees were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast, although not elaborate, was very tasty and filling.

Best of the 90's

First I will say the staff was extremely pleasant. Very friendly and helpful. The property is dark and dated. Poor lighting throughout giving it a dingy feeling. Building was missing some soffit above the pool area. I would guess the property was built in the middle 90's and hasn't been touched since.

This was a cute little spot to stay over the weekend. You can tell the people who own the place care, want it to work and are trying to put intentional touches into everything. It’s located walking distance to some chain food and very close to the highway and chain stores. My lower star ranking is merely due to some upgrades that should be considered as they grow. Our water pressure was very, very poor regardless of the spigot setting, and the grout from the tiles on the ground kept breaking off onto our feet. There was also a rather large hole in the bathroom where the ventilation was dropped in and the wood on the door was peeling off. Not a game changer for us by any measure, but definitely something that could bother someone else. We would 100% stay again - thank you for the great experience!
