Classic, elegant and beautiful. Situated high on the side of a valley with fabulous views for miles and miles, Chateau Du Mas offers a high degree of privacy with 5 acres of manicured parkland and offers the perfect blend of modern convenience set in a historic and beautiful building.
The interior of the chateau is light, bright and airy with large (25m2) well appointed rooms, giving enough space for all tastes as well as the flexibility to put cots, nursing chairs etc without compromising comfort.
The large (13x6m) heated pool is set within it's own large and private terrace, it offers an array of sun beds for the sun lovers but also shade at all times of the day under cover of a tented pavilion equipped with comfortable sofas, chairs and curtains.
The pool is accessed via lockable gates and is equipped with a pool alarm for that extra piece of mind. Designed with children in mind the pool facility has been a real winner with all.
To the rear of the chateau and accessed via french doors is a barbecue terrace. Equipped with a large gas BBQ, large table and chairs that are set under shade and fitted with subtle night lighting this is a great environment to while away many a lazy hour in both the afternoons and evenings. The sound of running water from the fountain and raised pond only add to the charm and elegance of this area. The grounds of the Chateau offer a range of children toys and games including, large and small swing sets, large trampoline with safety net, large and small slides, garden chess, garden Jenga etc. For the nature lovers a walk through the chateau grounds and into the woodland beyond enables you to see a wide variety of birdlife and other native animals such as deer, wild boar, rabbits, foxes and many others.
Whilst private, the chateau is within walking distance (10mins) of the local village with boulangerie, pharmacy, small convenience store, garage, cash point, doctor, dentist and many other facilities. It is pretty typical for our guests to make the morning pilgrimage to the local boulangerie to buy freshly baked bread still warm from the ovens. The local area offers a wide range of activities and attractions for both adults and children which includes, Golf(10mins), Accrobranche (Go-ape 10mins). Historic Angouleme (25mins) is a large cosmopolitan regional town offering a large range of restaurants and shops as well as beautiful architecture, street art and culture. For the car enthusiast Angouleme's Rally des Ramparts each September is world renowned and draws enthusiasts and exotic cars from across europe. Beautiful Brantome and Aubeterre are a must in this part of France lovely parks and good restaurants coupled with quaint architecture and activities such as canoeing and kayaking on the canals and rivers make a great day out for all. Historic sites such as Oradour-sur-Glane and the caves of the Vallee de la Vezere offer different points of interest for a day out.
